I’ll try to keep this one short, as my to-do list for the day is somewhat packed ![]()
The first half of week 3 I spent on wrapping up the maintenance patch which included the location clustering changes I discussed in last week’s issue as well as several other changes to round out the location-based demand feature.
I then moved on to the task that inspired this week’s title: My plan was to release the next “State of the Game” video today. I released such a video about a year ago already, discussion my personal and professional circumstances and now they affect AirlineSim, and I plan on making this an annual (at least) tradition.
The first step of preparing this year’s edition was to go over all my current and planned projects and structure them into a short- to medium-term action plan. You might have witnessed some of that planning “live” if you noticed items being added and closed in the roadmap category. Fortunately, I came out of this process with a pretty clear picture of my next steps and I was also able to pour the results into a script for the video. Unfortunately, I had (and still have) a sick kid at home, so I had to push back some of my work to this week.
Last but not least, I am also actively troubleshooting the combination of ITRs and LBD in an exclusive game world that took the risky decision to try this (so far) untested combo. I am glad they did, because it allows me to see it working in the real world. But it also means I have to work out the kinks on short notice.
So…stay tuned. Target dates will be somewhat fluid in week 4 ![]()
