Can someone tell why in that same flight DOH-HKG when I use new seats sytem I have only one level satistaftion price , If in that same price in old system , I have 3 level satisfaction in price. I do not change price , only I install new seats system .
In the new system, the same "value" seats can attract a lower price rating - by value I mean the amount you pay to install the seats. This has been the case for all of my flights.
As I see it, I can accept the difference (as my competitors may be affected also), or I can affect the rating by lowering my price or installing more expensive seats.
Yes smoku, just read other threads here...people are complaining about the same thing... I used to have Economy seats with good onboard service, got 98 and 99 ORS rating and charged default price. I was running SH and MH flights, no widebody aircraft (just 737s). I installed Leisure and Leisure plus seats, which are a bit more expensive than previous Economy seat (by $200 I think) and my rating dropped to 83 from 98/99 (without changing price or onboard service). if your competitors keep using older seats, you are f***d (same as I am) unless you (and I) install even bigger and more expensive seats or lower the prices. I still have some planes with old config (737s) and the rating I get on old style Economy seats is 99 with good onboard service and default price. If your competitor stays with the old config...it will mean bad times ahead.
the seats have become more expensive, but that's no real problem. Once you have them installed, they will last a lifetime (unlike real seats in real planes).
The old economy seat was a size 1.2 seat. The new leisure plus seat is smaller. As the seat is smaller, you have to sell your tickets cheaper.
The only problem with the new seats is that they don't exactly fit in every plane...
If you install leisure plus in a 747-800, you have the maximum number of passengers that are allowed, and you still have some empty space at the rear of the cabin. So in a 747-800 that seats has a relative size that is smaller than 1. If you install the leisure plus in your 73G, you can only fit 132 seats. So in a 73G the leisure plus has a relative size of 1.12
I haven't seen the real sizes of the seats yet... have they been published somewhere ? Anyway, even in a 73G they appear to have size 1.1 which is smaller than the old economy seat. So it is normal that you have to lower your price. Tickets should be around 10% cheaper to get the same rating.
Don't forget that the fuel consumption of the 73G has been changed. So profit margins should be less anyway.

PS
you could fit 124 old economy seats in a 73G, correct ? You can now fit 132 leisure plus seats in a 73G. Did you expect to sell more tickets at the same price and have the same rating ?
