in croydon the agex has gotten so bad its turning my airline in to the ground this needs fixed or ditched
what is agex?
AGEX is a conjuctional index - you can see it in the holding menu under the markets.
It’s currently on a low level on this server.
this game simulates a financal system and not a sandbox
yes i know but take the flowing 2 factors
-we don’t know how is calculated
-there is no sign of it getting better
Like in reality
if its like reality how is it that i am travelling more since the recession
insolvency administrator?
nope
i decided to run a poll
And what do you want to aim with this poll where in best case only 1% of all players will vote?
its better to try then ask what if. i just want to see what people are really thinking.
Seems like only you want to ditch it
A wag might suggest that such things are easier to stomach if you have someone else paying the bills…more practically, what you’d likely find in a look at travelling habits now versus 2005 or so is that people are prepared to spend less money per distance travelled - witness the recent round of enormous airline financial losses. My sense is that the AS system isn’t really designed around allowing passenger ratings vs. ticket prices to be altered on the fly, but practically speaking providing a reduced number of passengers paying the usual rate has more or less the same effect even if it’s a bit different to look at - and even if it did it’d be impossible to simulate the fine detail, anyway (how on earth do you look at ‘annual holiday’ leisure travel vs ‘for the hell of it’ leisure travel vs visiting family vs business travellers slumming it in economy?)
I would take issue with the idea that the AGEX is a mysterious, unknowable black box - obviously you don’t know that it’s going to go up or down tomorrow, or by how much it’s going to go up or down (or not; I don’t know what’s going on under the hood either, for what it’s worth, although saying that I don’t particularly feel the need to), but at the same time if you look at it over the long term it seems pretty trendable - so on Croydon we can say that it recently ended a gradual decline and has become a lot more volatile than it had been since introduction - right now we’re on a pretty fast downswing, but a couple of weeks ago we were on a pretty fast upswing. So, it’s impossible to be certain about what it’ll be in a month or a year, but you can make an educated guess - f.e Croydon, having spent four straight months in a small, stable decline, might be more likely than not to spend a few months being volatile on a week-to-week basis but end up not changing much overall. Or it might not - but it might be an interesting experiment to write down what you think the general trend of it is right now (in more detail than just ‘declining’) and where you think it’ll be in a month’s time and then look at that in a month. You’d probably beat an economist’s prediction of real-world behaviour, anyway!
the joke is that most economists anyone listens to are dribbling idiots
In Nicosia it has been going up 20-50 points than the next day it will go down 20-40 points. So it’s becoming really unpredictable. I could live with AGEX, but I wouldn’t want it to be so erratic. If it would go down and up in a more consistent and moderate way, I wouldn’t mind it. I took out some aircraft and many roues because it seemed like it wasn’t going to stop going down. Now it seems like the trend is going up. So it was a waste of time, effort and money doing what I did. At least it should let people have the time to react to the changes.
3its now 3 vs 11 we will see on the 1st of september
i like agex but its making the game implayable
Wonder why thousands of players are playing it, if it is implayable.
croydon is beginning to become implacable
Also I think it isn’t unplayable, but this statement is dumb - and you know why.
