If you don't already know the Ilyushin IL-18D is by far the most popular plane in Otto II with almost 7,000 of them produced. It's also the most disliked plane among passengers, so my question is will airlines need to get rid of these jets and replace them with newer ones?
I have been slowly phasing mine out. The idea is to use them to expand rapidly, then once you have the cash flow, replace them with modern jets.
Yeah, I did the same thing with 727-100/200's and DC-8-72's. Can't really beat the that they cost anywhere from 35-65k to lease per week. Once you get established switch to something more popular, I was aiming for the MD-81's and 757-200's. With the old jet's you can get established pretty quick and develop routes no problem. But the issue is that once you start to have competition you need to start upgrading or you notice a HUGE decline in profit week-to-week.

All of the aircraft here are brand new. The oldest one is aged 0.2 years. Maybe you mean "replace them with popular one"?
The answer is yes. I have stopped my order on IL-18D. Got enough money now to actually buy something with three bar green aircraft at the least. In the end people will try to compete with better equipment. I cannot get 100 in ORS with IL-18D.
