Doubt about terminals

hi. im new in the game and i build a terminal on my hub. my doubt is if i have to sign a contract or i use the terminal capacity whit my flights in automatic.

tks :D

Hi,

you have to sign a contract with yourself  :-)

you can also make it your default terminal. Then every flight you create, will automatically use that terminal. And don't forget to allocate how many passengers per week you will use.

But to be honest, terminals are a poor investment for a new airline. You better invest that money in a plane... the profit will be much higher.

The terminal is only good when you have too much money but nowhere to spend. They are at least better than buying your plane, because they would increase the ORS rating.

Hmm...

higher rating means that you can ask more money for your tickets, and make mor profit. If you buy a plane, you don't pay lease and also make more profit. The return on investment is bigger if you buy a plane.

With a terminal, you save 11 dollar (handling cost) per passenger, but you also need to hire ground handling staff to man your terminal.

The higher rating is more noticeable in business class than in economy... if I remember well  ;-)

Jan,

The other benefit is "psychological" for the player in the sense that I want to build a $1,000,000,000 terminal at DME that can handle 750,000 pax per day (I am currently at 550,000). You know because if the Oil Sheiks in Dubai can do it, why can't this ruski?

:)

Hi Dmitri,

sure. My Egyptian airline owns terminals in (almost) every airport it covers. Total value of these terminals is 900 million. That airline also owns more than 5 billion (5000 million) in shiny 73G's and 739's. But I only started buying planes and building terminals when I was fed up with expanding and scheduling planes all the time  ;-)

Telas is new to the game, so my advice is to invest in leased planes. The smallest terminal you can build only handles 2000 passengers per week, but costs as much as the leasing deposit of a narrow body airplane. Leasing a plane will allow you to grow your airline.

Have a nice weekend,

Jan
