Embraers Sukhois CRJ's or AN148

Which one do you prefer;

Personally for me it's the Sukhois as I continuously get profits on these planes.

Embraers for me...the reasons...

  • Ability to swap between different sizes without changing the schedule
  • The largest (E195) has 26 more seats than the Sukhoi
  • The best popularity with passengers (which Sukhoi doesnt have)

For me the E195 is the most economical aircraft in its class. If I was going to go for smaller families then the CRJs are the way forward IMHO

Thanks

Ian

I agree. E95s/Embraer 195s are doing well for me. They can handle about 100 passengers pretty easily when you are using upgraded seats, have a relatively good price for the amount of passengers they transport, and can consistently get good returns. The only other one I was considering was the 736, but since the change in floorplan space came out, I've scrapped that idea. Still going to be looking for a narrow-body platform to upgrade to and develop as time goes on, but for right now, the E95 is a workhorse.

Hi,

I agree that the EMBs are usually the best, my EMB195 fleet on Aspern is sucessfull. On thing I specially like about them is their large range. From my Hub in MEX I can fly to roughly 80% of mainland USA, without leasing the LR or AR variant which is usually not as efficient as the baseline aircraft. But the choice of aircraft family is also depending on the market you are operating in and your strategy. Some time ago I had an airline in Fornebu which had its Hub in LIS, which was quiet congested at the time I started so the aircraft of choice was the CRJ because the smaller versions(CRJ700/900) are more efficient than the small EMBs(EMB170/175).

I personally Like CRJs of these, they aren't my favorite but the times I've used them they ran decent profits ( I used the CRJ 700 results with other CRJs might vary) however they are not my most loved aircraft. I love the 727 for personal reasons but the CRJ is my fave when it comes to profits.

Sukhoi's (non-LR) Superjet has more range than an E-195 which is useless for 95% of routes in Europe, China, etc. However, the SSJ can fly DME-YKS non-stop with good load while the 195 will not. It also has a wider fuselage which means you can fit more premium seats in it than the long thin 195 tube.

They are also more expensive in terms of capital costs, so use them where they are good short-medium density routes.

(SSJ - 56 Comfort, 12 Recliner Longhaul out of 98 seats = 70% Utilization vs 195 12/63 out of 125 seats available same config is only 60% utilization)

Well, for the Embraer 195, considering most people are still running narrow seats and high prices, I have both a 84/16 configuration and 80/32 configuration with the E195s that routinely pull down 20k per flight, after both direct and indirect costs, and I'm still on the lower end of prices on my routes compared to others, and have them beat in ORS rating most of the time too.

The reasons I don't like the SSJ compared to the E95 is simply the 39 hours of waiting. I've been getting CRJs now, too, and with their 12 hour wait time, and their 1.25 million deposit, I'm able to get a plane I can get 76 good seats in every 12-16 hours, as opposed to one every near-third day.

You are correct. In the mad dash for slots, the SSJ is worse. In the long term game I believe it goes ERJ/AN148 tie>SSJ>CRJ since ERJ gives most flexibility, AN148/158 costs the least, SSJ has better economics than the CRJ.

Currently I am using CRJ in this server, but I did used SSJ and AN148s in other servers. IMHO, CRJ and EMB is better in terms of variety, while SSJ and AN are better in terms of initial deposits
