Fleet Renewal Dilemma

I have a dilemma.

My airline group is based in Europe on one of the game worlds with a stock market.

We have an airline group based in Asia who have traffic rights in Europe due to share allocation. All this is ok of course and completely legal. But they are taking over Europe with 1000s of planes and filling up most airports not leaving much space for everyone else.

I am currently going through a fleet renewal, of my leased planes, but as there no second hand Airbus and Boeing planes, when I return one to the market, or buy and put it up for lease, this airline group are snapping them up and so making the slot situation worse.

So my dilemma is, should I just hold onto these planes, either continued lease or buy and just not use them? Sounds a bit childish, but what else can I do?

What you can do is buy them, move to a sub and lease them back. I don’t know if there is any benefit for it

The problem I have is that I don’t need the planes anymore so that doesn’t help.
