Tokyo Narita - Tokyo Chofu
Tokyo Haneda - Tokyo Chofu
Osaka Itami - Kobe
Osaka Kansai - Kobe
Sapporo New Chitose - Sapporo Okadama
Nagoya Komaki - Nagoya Centair
Both New Chitose and Okadama have SPK as Metropolitan Area Code, Kobe have same Metropolitan Area Code of OSA as Itami and Kansai, while Tokyo Chofu have no IATA code but given these other examples it’d probably be reasonable to consider them in same city and thus forbidden for the purpose of airlinesim.
Staying on topic, id also propose a new forbidden country pair, the only (longstanding) one remaining in Europe besides the one involving Cyprus, and that is Serbia - Kosovo.
The ban is enforced via national regulators who prohibit flights between the two based on disagreements regarding the latter countries sovereignty
Hiroshima West - Hiroshima International probably should also be banned, but i guess the real question is why Hiroshima West still has demand , as it was closed in 2012 and only has helicopter service without a runway
From game design prespective, I think the developers would be hesitant to implement it, because Kosovo is already limited enough, and we don’t want to make the country that almost nobody wants even more unappealing
Serbia is also not very appealing, and I think we don’t want to nerf it further
Surin hasn’t had a flight for many years. Licence was withdrawn due to runway aspect. Only the very rare vip helicopter uses it. Last military government offered to build a new airport just north of Prasat just before the election. Would have been nice for us as we are 35km from Prasat and Buriram airport is 80 km away. New terminal should be opening soon as well as a runway extension.
Nakhon Ratchasima - Total waste of money. Currently only used by a flight school. New Gen Airways ran a few weekend charters to Changmai and Phuket but never worked.
How busy Surin used to be? If it wasn’t very busy before, then I hardly know if that replacement will ever have a significant influence on gameplay
Actually, if city based demand would be implemented, then it won’t be as useless
If airlines could promote tourism or business there, then it could generate its own demand. With the implementation of “Crew bases”, this airport can be a non-busy base to base some of your staff, without having to worry about running out of space
So I disagree about the uselessness of this airport
Thanks @qunow and @IvanP0921, I’ll add those new pairs in an upcoming data patch.
Can’t say much about the other data issues mentioned. Maybe @koenc86 wants to have a look, but generally speaking, it would be better to open a new thread for things that aren’t related to the OP (“forbidden routes” vs. “random demand data discrepancies in Thailand” in this case ).
Hi tso310. Both airports in Thailand currently have almost zero demand in the game, and from what you’re stating I guess that is correct for now.
We’ll keep an eye on Surin for when the airport re-opens. Thanks for mentioning!
Surin is permanently closed to fixed wing traffic due to the runway aspect to the north. Whats annoying is that Buriram was going to be literally 3km from our house but the ownership land and subsequent sale for the current airport was far more important ! Its now 80km north of us and 40km north of the city… Building it between Surin and Buriram @ Krasang would have been the ideal choice.
So is the location of the Buriram airport inside the game aligned with the location in real life nowadays? What is the state of the airport in real world and how it doesn’t match reality?
And it’s probably better to provide amswers tp these questions in a thread that talk about airport data, not route restriction.
Location is fine… New terminal due to open this year and runway extension soon. Traffic before covid was 3 Air Asia A320s and 2 Nok Dhc8s all to DMK naturally. Today its only 2 Air Asia. Domestic traffic, non tourist destinations, is well down, Chinese market is also heavily down. India is doing very well though. Thai can still sell out its 2x LHR flights. I came down in early December on BA from LGW, 50 minute direct train ride for us in West Sussex. 3 times a week from October to April going 5 a week from Jan. First time I’d flown BA long haul 30 years. 25 year old B772 and an older than normal cabin crew. Really nice interior, far better than Thai, and the cabin crew were really good. Emirates still the best imoh just because of the food and the ICE. Qatar are 2nd for me and EVA 3rd with Thai a way behind.
