Global Alliances

If you join a Global Alliance" , does this also mean that traffic/passenger between two points are share. is it similar to “interlining” . What are the advantages to associating with one ?

Alliances in their current form are mostly cosmetic. They offer an in-game discussion board, which is barely useable though (imo) and most serious alliances will usually have their own dedicated forums and/or Discord servers. Beyond that, there’s a tiny feature in the connection analyser that allows to filter alliance members flights and there are of course the consolidated “Facts and Figures” and schedules on the alliance profile page.

But unless I missed something, that’s about it at the moment.

So the benefits of joining one, adding a weekly cost offers very little benefit.

I don’t think joining an alliance has any cost to it. Interlining, which would be common between alliance members, does however cost money.

What I was asking…by joining an airline alliance, does this generate any bookings, or does your alliance display more possible connections…thereby getting more passenger bookings.

I think Martin answered that above. The alliance is mainly cosmetic, and potentially for roleplaying purposes.

Interlining with another airline has the effect you describe above and will likely* give you more connections and bookings.

Yes. I understand alliances bring no “revenue/traffic” benefit. Interlining on the other hand benefits with shared traffic , but at a weekly cost.
