Is Embraer the new MD?

I’ve always loved the MD 80 series, impressed with their style and performance.

Now that I look at the Embraer fleet of 170/175 and 190/195, I feel like they fill the gap left since MD80’s ceased production. It’s like they are where MD’s would have gone if they continued production.

I’m super impressed with both brands.

And on a side note, I’m also impressed with the business jets in the Embraer fleet, particularly the Phenom 300.

Dont get it. The E-jets are way smaller. A220s are more of a replacement altough that is also far fetched.
