Hopefully someone might be able to help. Do costs like landing charges and ATC vary between different airports. Ie, are some airports more expensive to operate out of than others?
I’ve got the same aircraft, same config, flying the same distance, out of two different airports. In the smaller, emptier airport the Landing charge is ten times the other…
Is this normal?
ATC fees are depended on aircraft type and distance.
Landing fees are depended on aircraft type and the airport size category - on more recent game worlds, the size categories of both airports are taken into account.
Thanks for the reply. So the smaller the airport(s), the higher the costs presumably - assuming the same type of aircraft covering the same distance?
My hub is in Mex (9) and Cun (7) is prohibitively expensive for any regional flights?
The bigger the airport the higher the cost.
MEX-CUN is hardly a regional flight, but I've made a really good profit on that before

Mex is my hub and flights in a CRJ 900 over say a 1200km route for example have a landing charge of 52-55 AS.
A CRJ into Cun (second hub im trying to grow) over the same distance, is around 500 AS.
I get that maybe small airports have fewer flights and so have to charge more to cover their costs, but a factor of ten seems a lot.
