Lease cancellation by Lessor

Right. And to change the system just to prevent abuse by a very small percentage of players does not make sense. Official AS-leasing will not be cancelled by AS hence the best choice.

5 or 6 days is quite useless

imagine you lease cheap old aircrafts like md-80 with a startup and after a week your contract gets cancelled. neither do you have the money to replace your aircrafts by new ones, nor might proper types of used aircrafts be available.

all your money for cabin is gone and your airline will go down.

i dont see a meaningful purpose to give such a tool to destroy airlines into the hands of players.

not ll will act that bad but some do it

I thought you were kidding with your first post…

5-6 days gives you the chance to arrange a replacement. That’s all that matters.

If you don’t have money for a replacement, it’s your mis-management to be blamed!

If you get a DC-3 because it’s cheap, don’t complain when there’s no replacement once it goes broken.

There’s plenty of alternatives for an M80. No money? Your bad.

In all honesty, how big is this issue? I have played AS for half a decade now, and I don't hesitate to lease from other players. I have only had planes cancelled on me once! Being polite, and getting in touch with people gets you a long way. It might also give some good relations and discounts.

Not big at all.

Just a little unreal (absurd) game detail that can’t be too hard to fix.

disagree totally.

many players might not even be online within the 5-6 days. as is not only for daily players ...

Well, then don't lease from players. It's that simple. Nobody forces you to get aircraft from another player that acts like a dick, no?

Matth, no.

again. i dont talk about me.

a newcomer opens an airline and leases from such a player. then all his aircrafts are cancelled short before the contract has to be renewed. the new airline is eliminated. thats cool? no.

or sometimes the player is blackmailed: "you have to cancel this or that IL or i will cancel all your leasing contracts". cool? no.

disagree totally.

If a player doesn't manage to check in all 5-6 days, then it's his problem if he decides to lease from a player.

Notice periods (no matter if by law or contract) are there to offer minimum protection for either party.

In AS, it's those 5-6 days as has been said. Anything else is nonsense, a period exceeding the basic lease period (1 week) anyways.

...

And you really think such player would still bother offering aircraft for lease at a notice period of 0.5-1 year? Come on!

You’d kill the market entirely.

disagree again! it would just thrive players out of this business who use it as a tool against competition but are not really interested to act as a leasing company

here we have different views. anything else than 1 years termination period is nonsense in my eyes

Seriously? Are we having here now a philosophical discussion or what? How often does that REALLY happen in the game? Once in a century? And for that we have to program a solution?

And my “then don’t …” was not addressed to you. It was meant as a general advice to any player.

A player with a young airline that doesn’t log on for 5-6 days is anyway likely to lose his airline. It needs attention. And if you get an ingame notification (e-mail sent to you) and then don’t log on, though shit. You can’t be helped. He might also not log on for 3 years!!! (Saw recently a player like that).

Well and of course, in your mind the bad kraken are to blame for it.

That’s how the kraken play right?

You nailed the kraken.

some do some dont

first - it happens more often than you think and it might happen much more often if players then would not refrain from leasing from this company

second - i assume that the programming effort is very low because you just have to calculate the time of contract termination differently

So proposal is for half a year notice (for example). That must work two ways, therefore if you are to return an aircraft there must be a 6 month notice. Would you be happy with that?

The change I can see here is to have full 7 days when someone clicks cancel. It is beneficial for both sides, prevents people from canceling hours before the week is over.

Everything else (longer contractual time) only makes sense to me, when we close contracts for a certain amount of days, not open end. If you have a 6 months contract a penaltiy needs to be paid from the party canceling the contract earlier.

Of cause I would like to offer some planes only to people I have agreed on a certain rate, but this only supports behaviour that is not beneficial for the Game World. There is too much not really fair behaviour already today.

What I did when I have seen very low rates is writing a message to the Player “Hey you are offering the 737 for a very good rate. Can I lease it or is it for someone else?” It can only be beneficial for you.

Nah, no problem.

Once you realize that cheap MD-80 is stuck in your fleet for the next 6-12 months, just complain about the 4th+ maint category penalties.

for me that would be fine. although i dont see why it has to be two-way. not necssary from my point of view
