Leasing Purchase?

Am I missing something? How come it is cheaper to order and use ‘leasing purchase’ on a new aircraft over an aircraft that is used?

e.g. Dash 8 Q400B

used 126,500 AS$

new 115,000 AS$

is there a catch?

It’s probably obvious but I can’t see it.

For a new Dash8 Q400B you have to wait 15 hours and to arrange transfer flight from YYZ to your hub.

For a used Dash you have to wait (in case you win the auction) only 1 hour and you have to arrange the transfer flight from actual airport to your hub.

So you have to decide whether you like to wait or to pay a higher leasing-rate per week.

But this is not the general rule for the used aircraft marked. From time to time you may find some very interesting offers.

Before you order a new aircraft ex factory ALWAYS check the used aircraft-market first.
