Load Factor very low

Hello !

Just started playing this game yesterday, and love it so far!

So, with the starting 10.000.000$,  I bought 4 x  Tupolev 204's  and assigned routes to all of them. My current account balance is just 270.000 $   and there are some flights that have a load factor of just 3%!

So from the 210 seats available (all economy class), just 7 seats are booked!  I read that only an X amount times a day flights can be purchased by the ''passengers'',    but still my airplane is about to fly in a few hours with just  7passengers,  how is this possible??

I already lowered the price, and upgraded the on board services, so its really fancy shmancy , but still not much passengers..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!  :-)

Hi,

I had the same feeling when starting the game. Some things to consider:

- How attractive is your flight? You may check this in the details of the single flight when looking at the rating page. (I use german interface, maybe it is called something like "Ratings")

- How much competition is on your route? And how do you compare against your competitors. Maybe your flights are already registered within the ORS (available if you bought credits already). Otherwise just select the route and do a quick check on other flights. Are they fully booked? What are their prices? Do keep in mind that eventually competitors have a bigger network, thus they are by far more attractive than your airline is.

- Have you connected "attractive" airports together? The more PAX, the more likely you will get some.

- You have four planes. Do they all start from one airport? Do they start at approx. the same time? Do they arrive at approx. the same time? Is there sufficient time for your PAX to exit the plane and catch the next one? This "transfer time" varies between 0:45 minutes on small airports to 1h30 on mega airports. Have a look at the wiki.

Next, welcome to airlinesim, a game I already spent real-live weeks since just a couple of months.

If you are using standard seats, swap them out for economy seats.

Never start with such large airplanes. Start with something smaller and try to build a hub on your home airport. That way you can also benefit from connecting passengers.

Thanks all for replies, so fast!!

:)

So,  if for example,  plane flies at 6:00 am  from Bogota to Panama, (which in real life is a busy route) and lands there lets say 7:30 am,  so instead of putting the standart time for the flight back from Panama to Bogota at 7:35,  i should leave the window open  and fly back at 10:00 am??  (for example then,)

so that the 'window' is more open and other transfer passengers can come in??

by the way, dont'you just LOVE how realistic this game is,  how you can plan and TIME TABLE your airplanes!! and I love that there is finally a game where I can use Tupolevs and Antonovs,  instead of just embraers boeings airbuses,  :D

That route has intense compeition and you shouldn't start on that.

Btw, when you pick a country to start, pick somewhere that is less served. (i.e. those weird nations in Africa). You are not in shape to compete with those established airlines.
