Maintenance- the "2 Week Rule"

Sorry for the all capital letters - these were pasted from my notes and I made them with all caps. Too time consuming to change to regular so it is what it is.

THE “2 WEEK RULE” FOR CHANGING MAINTENENCE PROVIDERS IS FALSE. MY CONCLUSION IS THAT THERE IS NO PROVIDER CHANGE ALLOWED IN THE GAME.

ALSO, A.S. PUBLISHES A FALSE LIST OF PROVIDERS PRICES, EFFICIENCY, AND QUALITY. IN THE PAST, WHEN IT WAS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE PROVIDERS IT WAS NOTICED THAT NONE OF THOSE 3 CATAGORY CHOICES WAS RELEVANT. IN FACT NOT ONLY IRRELIVANT, BUT FALSE BECAUSE BY CHANGING PROVIDERS, NOTHING CHANGED IN QUALITY, EFFICIENCY, OR PRICE.

IN ADDITION, MAINTENENCE IS NOT CHARGED ON A WEEKLY BASIS. WE ARE GETTING WEEKLY CHARGES FOR MAINTENCE EVERY 2 DAYS. THESE PRACTICES ARE UNACCEPTABLE \.

I know that changes to provider caused changes in airlines because one time I changed from African (excellent efficiency) to Helvetic (excellent quality) and a bunch of my routes broke because there wasn’t enough maintenance time anymore. With the african efficiency the time i had left was enough, but for helvetic it wasn’t.

Lesson learned.

Last week I created ten subsidiaries on a free server, all flying the exact same aircraft on the same routes. Each subsidiary used a different maintenance provider.

I know… I have read your profile: “I don’t really look for answers here, I just basically complain and vent.”

Still, I would encourage you to try a similar experiment. It may be enlightening. I definitely learned something.
