Welcome to the newest airline on the Stapleton world!
Malaysian was launched on the 1/1-2016 as Asian Airways liquidated on the 31/12-2015, Malaysian inherited all staff and fleet and is currently flying all the routes of the defunct Asian Airways. The Malaysian is the national carrier of Malaysia and the soon to be dominating airline of Malaysia. Our main competitor is Raffles Airlines which is most likely named after Sir Stamford Raffles which was the british conquering Singapore and founding the modern city of Singapore. The other possibility of the origin of the name might be from the noun raffle (another word for lottery) which in the plural noun form is raffles. The CEO of Malaysian has promised that no raffles are going on inside our enterprise. Before the liquidation of Asian Airways AS$10,000 were handed out to every member of our fantastic staff on the end of year reports which were held in the Bukit Jalil stadium in Kuala Lumpur. During a ceremony an airplane identified to be an A319E made a low flyby over the ceremony wearing a full Malaysian livery but with one extra text spelling "Thank you Christian for offering the world a new superior way to fly, now you need a even more superior way to fly", as soon as the CEO saw this he was astounded and thanked all of the staff. This A319ACJ is a gift from the company to the CEO, the aircraft is wearing the standard Malaysian livery with an addition to these titles: Thank you Christian for offering the world a new superior way to fly, now you need a even more superior way to fly
Our current active fleet consists of:
36 Airbus A319Es
58 Airbus A320Es
75 Airbus A321Es
1 Airbus A340-600
3 Airbus A330-300X
We also have around 10 different plane types which are leased out or not operated.
In addition to this we have the following aircraft on order:
50 Bombardier Cseries 100
50 Bombardier Cseries 300
100 Airbus A320NEO
120 Airbus A321NEO (20 A321LR)
50 Boeing 787-8
50 Boeing 787-9
50 Boeing 787-10
20 Airbus A380-800 (not yet approved)
These aircraft will all be delivered through 2016-2017
Malaysian has set the goal that no aircraft in the grand fleet should be over 2.4 years old. We are determined to never have under 200 single aisle aircraft so replacements are always crucial. As our long haul operations are just starting we have decided to start with a couple of aircraft that are under 4 years old which will later be replaced by modern 787 dreamliners.
Malaysian is part of the Global Groupe together with the sister airlines Panama Airlines and GFS.
Malaysian has during the last week invested in revolutionising the in flight service with new splendid collections of meals and drink. Together with the most beautiful cafe in the world, the New York Cafe in Budapest serves best cold food and absolutely exquisite coffee and hot chocolate together with a fantastic sweet delight. This cafe is truly worth a visit when you are in Budapest. It is the perfect place for doing your business or having business meetings in the same time as you watch the fantastic decorations and eat the exquisite food. It is impossible to have a visit to Budapest and not even drink a coffee in this fantastic cafe. Malaysian has implemented a squid salad, caesar salad, the fantastic apple pie, chocolate cake, hot chocolate and the exquisite coffee. All of these are available up in the air all over the world.
A view in the fantastic New York Cafe in Budapest:
We have also made some crucial partnerships with the Boscolo Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels and the Corinthia Hotels for the Global Travel Services (GTS) to be able to sell rooms to these hotels as well as flights or other activities. All flights we offer are operated only by Unity carriers and no other airline that are not part of the Unity Skies Alliance. Currently we have a SALE of 20% on all hotel and flight packages.
Here is the beautiful Boscolo Palace also in Budapest:
This week the CEO has given a press conference in the headquarters of Malaysian wich are located in the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
"We have going through the inventory of aircraft that Malaysian currently operates and we have been coming to the decision that 31 A320 Family aircraft will be retired from our operation during 2016 in order to be able to keep our retirement age at 2.4 years. As these aircraft are getting retired we will need replacements. During this year all A320E Light will exit service ending an era as they were our first aircraft to operate together with the E195s wich will exit service in April and they will be handed over to museums. We will not order any more new A320E Family as we will instead replace the ageing aircraft with A320NEO family aircraft. Though if we are offered a good deal on A320E aircraft we will of course take them. If the plans do not change the A319Es and A320Es will sadly not see 2018 with Malaysian as they will all be retired by December 2017 while the A321E will be retired by February 2018. If by that time we will find the 737 MAX more economical we will replace all aircraft with 737 MAXs.
Here is a beautiful 767-400ER in flight:
Malaysian will aggressively enter the long haul market with a fleet of 767s thereby 10 767-400ERs and 2 767-300ERs wich will temporarily be operated to routes to Europe and Hawaii until we have negotiated with lessors and manufacturers to either consider the A350 or the 787. This mean that our current A330s and A340s will exit service this month. We will also operate a couple of 767-300Fs for GFS. Our current 787 order will still remain but they will not be firmed before a decision has been taken and the results have been weighed. We will never order any brand new 767s.
Intra Asia routes (like China and Japan) will be operated by A321 or A319s while the 767s will be taking longer routes like New Zealand, Europe, Hawaii, Africa, southeastern Australia and the Middle east.
After complaints from customers and staff about our new logo and livery we have decided to change the brand identity with a new logo new livery. We have also re launched the new iLUX concept which stands for "Infinite Luxury and Comfort" was previously used by CBE Airways.
Our aircraft will all be repainted in the coming six months and the old Asian Airways seats will all be changed and the cabins will be completely refurbished. Until then the Aian Airways titles on the liveries will be removed and replaced with temporary Malaysian titles. No aircraft should enter 2017 with the old liveries or interiors. All old branding in check in desks, gates or launches will be removed and replaced by Monday when this new identity becomes the official identity of the Malaysian. All uniforms of all staff will be replaced until Monday.
We have also gotten ideas from staff to rebrand all the group airlines to Global followed by the name of the country but the CEO refused and said "we are not an enormous airline groupe that only care about money and not about customers and staff like Early bird, Orient Jet, Beobird, Groff and Berways we are a group of lag carriers of our countries and every one of our airlines is the flag carrier of the country in which it flies".
A second press conference was now held by the CEO but unlike the one held in the morning which was in Kuala Lumpur this one was held in Panama City which is over 16,000 km away from Kuala Lumpur and almost on the other side of the world. Though the CEO seamed relaxed after flying comfortably with Air Geneva a fellow Unity Skies partner. This time he announced that Panama Airlines will start passenger service on the 5th of February with 200 daily departures from PTY.
He also announced the start of construction of the brand new Global World Port at KUL (known as T16) this all new terminal will have it´s first flight on the 1st of February with a Malaysian 767-400ER to London. The CEO Christian Pålsson said "This terminal is the top in luxury and it symbolizes the iLUX concept. It is the newest in the world and the most technologically advanced in the world. This terminal will on the 1st start taking care of all long haul operations of Malaysian and our Unity Skies partners wich will be offered to use the terminal for free. When the terminal will be fully completed, hopefully at the end of 2016 it will handle all flights of Malaysian and other UNITY SKIES Airlines."
New Malaysian livery on one of our new 767-400ERs:
He also announced that all employees of the Global Group will receive a Sony Xperia Z5 or Z5 compact and a Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. He also revealed a new app which will tell all flight information, give work assignments, general information, aviation rule book and the Malaysian Textbook of operations. This app should be used by all employees in order to help them in their daily work and to offer all information the employee needs for the entire work day. This will allow the employees to not need to visit the operations center in order to check their assignments before every work day".
Yesterday the other 2 airlines of the Global Group also revealed their liveries in an event in Asuncion and in Cincinnati.
Global Freight Services 737-700SF:
South America Central Airlines CRJ-200ER:
Now all enterprises within the Global Group that operate aircraft have their liveries. In order to reach the goal of 1 billion group wide profits by the end of the year we will need atleast 4 more airlines in the group and all current enterprises need to double their business. Stay tuned for liveries of opcomming enterprises.
Today the CEO made the decision to extend the long haul fleet of Malaysian to 40 767-400ERs and 20 767-300ERs which will be second hand leased. He hopes that they will all join the fleet by March. These aircraft will join the fleet because we can not find any cheap 787s or A350s on the market and he believes that the 767 are the best choice if when get them at a fair price. Flights to Paris, London, Auckland, Mauritius and all flights to Australia have been a success but flights to Hawaii and to Harbin have been disappointing and loads have not reached over 3 passengers per flight.
Both of our nearly 30 year old 767-200ERs have either handed over their current routes to other 767s or have completely ended flying their routes. Both aircraft will join SACA in March in order to fly long haul flights to the United States in cooperation with our partners in the US. Both aircraft have already received the SACA livery but they will still be flying for Malaysian untill march when they will be operated by Malaysian for SACA. SACA will never operate these aircraft.
Here is one of them:
The CEO believes that this new livery reflects the flag of Paraguay. The Saabs already have this livery but the CRJs will not recive it as it will not look good with the engines in the rear. SACA will be adding up to 14 more CRJ-200s.
Currently the Management team of Global Group is already planning the launch of the next three groupe airlines extending the Global Group into the middle east, europe and adding our coverage of South America hoping to become the number one airline Group in South America. We will launch the next 2 airlines before April. One of them will be Air Iraq and the other one will be somewhere in South America. Air Iraq already has a livery and logo.
Here is the latest advert which Global Group uses in order to advertise that we are ONE and we are strong together:
Malaysian became the largest airline of Kuala Lumpur today with 0.12% larger market share than our closest competitor in the passenger market and we have a 2% larger share in the cargo market than our closest competitor. #NoMoreRaffles
Today marks exactly 1 year since the funding of Malaysian, which at the time was called Malaysia Air. The time has changed alot since then, the airline has gone through 2 rebrandings and the management team has been fired and replaced 12 times by requests of the Chairman, President and CEO Mr Christian Pålsson. The airline now has retired the E jets that are where the first chapter in the success story of the company but 2 of the original 3 E195s are still in the hands of the company. The logo has been changed 6 times and the painting department has had a lot of work to do repainting all the aircraft. The number of airlines in Malaysia has been falling and who knew that the smallest airline only investing in brand new aircraft would ones become the largest airline? During this time none of our competitors have actually been trying to defeat us but if they do they will know that they are defeating themselves.
Only 2 minutes after that Malaysia Air got founded we placed an order for 3 E195s and 1 A320E which would come brand new from the manufacturer. These aircraft got delivered immediately as part of the Immediate Delivery Program that delivers pre fabricated aircraft to startup airlines. The A320 left the fleet 1 week after it got delivered and one of these E195s was returned to it´s lessors because of a miscalculation by our finance team (this was the first time our management team got fired). We continued ordering more and more E195s with 50 of these aircraft in our fleet at a time. Since September 2015 we have replaced our E195s with A321Es, A320Es and A319Es. We have placed a bounty on getting us this original E195 and the original A320 of 100,000,000 per aircraft, the aircraft do not have to be in flying condition.
After a year since the start of the legacy of Malaysia Air which has been the founding of the current Global Group which is a multi billion dollar group running airlines, banks, leasing companies, shipping companies, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, property management and construction companies.
To celebrate this and the fact that we are the largest airline in Kuala Lumpur both in the passenger and the cargo market and the our 1 year anniversary we have officially opened the Global Museum which is a museum reflecting the Global Group and explaining about all Global companies the history and giving detailed explanations about every aircraft type, every cruise ship we operate and every resort or hotel we own. The main exhibit for this Museum are our 2 first aircraft bearing their original registrations 9M-ABG and 9m-ABH:
This is 9M-ABG in the first ever livery we had which we used for a month until the rebrand to Asian Airways:
And this is 9M-ABH wearing the current Malaysian livery with the hashtag #NoMoreRaffles:
There are pilots there offering tours of the cockpit and simulator flights for free. Infact there is no cost to visit the Global Museum.
We gotten into contact with the 2000 passengers that flew Malaysia Air during our first week of business and offered them a one year Unity Diamond card and 1000AS$ each. We have also given all our employes 4 months worth of salaries as a thank you for this fantastic year.
That is sad I was really looking forward for getting them back into my corporation and 100,000,000AS$ for a plane 1 year old plane that costs 37 million as new is a very fair bounty.
The CEO today came to the conclusion that Malaysian shares the same departure waves as our closest competitor at that we are fighting for slots with each other and if the Malaysian authorities do not decide to build additional runways at Kuala Lumpur International then expansion will be impossible on the 6:00 and 17:00 waves. The CEO instead decided to start new waves at times when the airport is not congested. This issue has made the issue to take down Raffles a lot more important for this purpose we have decided to order 30 new A318s in order to apply pressure on Raffles at Kota Kinabalu and Penang. These aircraft will be temporary until the C series will start being delivered. Panama Airlines is at this moment the global launch customer of the C series but Malaysian will follow as the Asian launch customer and the second operator of the aircraft. The CEO Mr Christian Pålsson said in the weekly press conference:
"We need those slots, we really need those slots. There is no other way to get those slots than flushing out Raffles Airlines. The only way we can flush out Raffles is to conquer every one of Raffles routes one by one. We already are the preferred airline both by passenger, staff and by investors (which we do not need), our loads are 96% while Raffles are 83% this shows as a fact that passagers low us. The A318s will help us flush out Raffles from BKI where the demand is slim but these smaller aircraft will help us together with some A319s and A320s. Maybe some of the aircraft will receive similar cabins as the 757s of Panama Airlines in order to be able to have less capacity but higher comfort meaning higher prices. If we would have the possibility to cancel the CSeries order because of the delay we would but we can not as no aircraft will be able to have similar economicas as the C series. That is why the Global Group has formed orders for 200 C series aircraft and has options for a further 400. At this moment only Panama Airlines and Malaysia have yet confirmed their orders though we are hoping to get also fly this aircraft with our other airlines around the world."
Hopefully we will start taking delivery of both CSeries variants before 2017. The order for the A318s will be formally signed sometime during the next next couple of weeks ad We belive to have the first one in our fleet by March.
After a Malaysian placed an order for 10 CRJ700 which should have been meant for Air Iraq (a sister airline). The employe in charge of this order has been given to Sparrow Air who kindly accepted him and promised that we shall never see him again in Malaysia. Sparrow Air are well known of air dropping employees who have done their work wrong deep into the Indonesian jungle and none of these employees have ever been seen again. The CEO also threatened to do the same practise to the management team if they do not solve the situation smoothly. Until the aircraft that are meant to be delivered to Air Iraq are delivered (20 CRJ 700s, 10 CRJ 900s and 10 CRJ 1000s) SACA and Panama Airlines will fly for Air Iraq in order to keep pressure on Air Fajri.
Today the announcement came from the CEO Mr Christian Pålsson that The Global Group will not buy Fijian Airways. All odds and many large aviation magazines wrote articles about the possible rebranding and purchase of Fijian Airways. The CEO has been in negotiations about the deal with the by the owner and all odds where on a purchase until the seller decided to refuse our price and the deal was off. The statement from the CEO followed:
"I really wanted this enterprise and I want to serve the area (Oceania) but if the seller rather decides to lose everything when the airline will reach bankruptcy in a couple of weeks instead of selling 51% of his shares and keeping the rest which as I promised to him will reach 10,000 AS$ in value in a year. The Global group will instead start our own airline in the region which will hopefully commence operations in the coming month.
Malaysian also changed it´s slogan today from being "The revolutionary way to fly" to being "The supreme way to fly". This is because the previous slogan might have linked us to a revolution and might have seen us as a revolutionary mascot.
Panama airlines has drastically expanded lately and opened a new hub in Georgetown, Barbados. Panama Airlines is in the process of replacing all old aircraft with 737s and CRJs. We have decided that the 757s will leave first and be replaced by 737s on longer flights. The CRJs will replace 737 HGWs on short haul flights so that these aircraft can fly <3500km routes to the US and South America. The 717s will start getting replaced after the 757s are done. Finally the 737 classics will get replaced and Panama Airlines will have one of the youngest fleets in the world.
Panama Airlines will be a caribbean airlines operating from PTY, BGI and some more hubs in a very close corperation with the Gorbi Group.
The Enterprise Caribbean Express has been launched and it will offer shuttle service with ATRs, LETs and ERJs to destinations which can not be reached by Panam Airlines. 28 CRJ 700s are on order and more CRJ 700s, CRJ 900s and CRJ 1000s will join our fleet for short haul flights.
At the moment w are considering to cancel the order for Bombardier C series both for Panama Airlines and for Malaysian but Argentine Airways and Air Iraq still have firm orders.
The CEO stated that the C series is to not the ideal aircraft for our operation and thereby adding an extra maintenance category is just a waste of money.
Here are some diagrams on how the CRJ 700s will look:
Note that the engines are painted in flags of countries we fly to and the aircraft are named after that country. This will only happen on the CRJs and on no other aircraft. The one at the top is the standard livery.
BLU Caribbean launched flights to London and Manchester from Barbados!!! Our long haul routes will for the time being be operated by 737-700 with winglets.
Air Geneva operates direct flights to Zurich and to Geneva. Which we have a code share with and our interiors and service are similar so the difference will not be bigger between flying with Air Geneva and BLU than what they are when flying with BLU and Malaysian.
On monday more long haul destinations will be announced where Dublin, Frankfurt, Edinburgh, Copenhagen, Oslo, Dusseldorf, Stockholm, Rome, Madrid, Lisbon, Nice, Paris, Milan, Brussels, Amsterdam, Munich and Helsinki are all destination which will be launched in the coming future and hopefully all these destination will be up for the 2016 summer season. Toulouse will also be seasonally operated in order for passengers to attend the AirlineSim international meetup. Sadly the CEO himself can not attend because he is godfather to a son to some close friends of his (if you are interested in handball you might know who it is) which now have a baby which will have the same name as the CEO (not the same last name).
BLU Caribbean is a luxury business and leisure airline. Differing from all other Global Group carriers BLU has it's own version of the Global Travel Agency where flight tickets, holiday attractions, hotels, etc can be purchased. These packages can also be found for the same price on the Global Travel Agency.
Our Visit Barbados campaign has started and these posters will be advertised all over the world.
Today BLU launched service to Madrid and Paris from where you can connect to 157 European with our partner Air Geneva. BLU is a luxury leisure carrier being the first in the world offering luxurious leisure service which differentiates us from the other Global Group carriers which offer exactly the same service but they are focussing on business travel. The CEO stated that BLU offers similar standards in Business class as the Four Seasons around the world jet though the only difference is that we do not fly an old and noisy 757.
This is a campaign poster which promotes our long standing partnership with Air Geneva:
Global Group today announced an order for 20 737-600s which will be operating for BLU Caribbean and will be mainly used on flights to The United States. Here is a rendering of one of the aircraft that will soon be delivered.
Malaysian has started returning it´s 767s and all will be gone within a week. They will all be replaced by modern dreamliners, we will also shortly launch 8 new long haul destinations flown by 787s, A321s or A319s..
Is BLU based on SAS and Blue1? Same engine colour as SAS and same rudder (and almost the same name) as Blue1...
Yes, it is a "inspired" by the SAS livery because I just could not think of a new livery or name for my Barbados livery and I saw a SAS A340 on approach to CPH when I was walking my dog and I thought I should do something similar as it is a pretty good livery but I could not use SAS so I used BLU which is also used in Radisson BLU as "it fits perfectly in the place where SAS was on the logo" according to Radisson.
I really miss seeing those beautiful 717s in the breathtaking Blue1 livery but sadly BLU has nothing with Blue1 to do and I did not even think of it until you mentioned it.
Hopefully I will be able to be creative and make a personal livery.
