Jeez, I've been away for a week on business, now I'm horrified to see what's going on - I have over 200 aircraft, over 70 cabin configurations, and now AS tells me that of 4056 cabin attendants, 58% are laid off - what the $&$/ is going on here? Am I seriously supposed to spend the Christmas holidays reprogramming every single cabin configuration and reassigning them to each and every aircraft individually by hand? Tell me this can't be true.
Hi,
with the introduction of the new seats, the old cabin configurations have lost their extra flight attendants. You won't be able to reassign these extra flight attendants to old cabin configurations. If you switch to the new seats, you will be able to put them back to work.
If you wait until after the holidays, you will give your cabin staff a nice and long Christmas holiday ;-)

Hi,
long time no see :-)
I may be wrong - this cabin editor is as new to me as it is to you - but I believe it goes like this:
- the legal minimum number of flight attendants works all over the plane.
- the extra flight attendants work where you put them, and that class will get a higher image.

Thanks Jan...I think it would be much easier to understand if it was just possible to allocate the number of FAs to each individual cabin like before...
It would be easier to work out the best spread around the entire aircraft.
If you wait until after the holidays, you will give your cabin staff a nice and long Christmas holiday ;-)

Thanks Jan, so it's like the government shutdown back in October, except I keep paying them? :P

Hi,
in Belgium we do it differently... we don't shut down the administration, we spend (almost) 2 years without a federal government ;-)
If you have ecoplus seats, they will do well and you can easily wait until after the holidays before you change seats. But I you have extra flight attendants, I guess you try to increase your airline image. And the old seats get red bars for seat space and flight attendants.
Changing the cabin configuration doesn't take that long if you use the same type of seats throughout your fleet. Oh, some seats have a high seat pitch. Check them out. And I don't know what fleet you now use (since you left from Lebanon), but some seats fit better than others.
Cheers,
Jan
