Dam you caught that I thought I edited out my rubbish maths before anyone saw!
As a silly question. How many real airlines own the aircraft rather than leasing? I work for a major airline which everyone assumes that the aircraft is owned outright, but if you check the plaque in the aircraft states the aircraft is leased.
I don't know the case in US or Europe, but at least most Asian airlines own their aircraft...
Well... I just did a calculation yesterday. If everyone bought 500 credits at 13.80 Euro, the current players (considering one holding per server) would bring revenue to roughly about 16,800 Euro per month. Calculate credit card charges 3%, the result is about 16,400 Euro per month. From this they have to pay 12 servers and I am sure they are not using the cheapest server configs. Colocation or dedicated servers with 99.99% uptime guarantee are not cheap and they must have somebody in colo facility on standby 24/7 in case s*t happens. I am sure they also have at least one backup just in case, and run system backups off-servers. Also probably using various RAID configs which add up on hardware costs. They also have office and they have to live off something. When you calculate everything, it really is not much money these guys take home every month. So not being a "free game and paying credit"... you are right but it's only half of the reality.
i will not argue with you and you're mathematics
I'm coming from IT business and I know how and why (and lot of things what going with that and you not mentioned)
Game need some changes or will lose public (gamers) if I'm wrong why we have so many empty servers (only 25% full)

Its very easy to explain..... people go to these servers and mostly like to start on big Airports like Denver Dallas, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and so on. Then they look and find out that 95% of the slots are gone. So they look for a different Place to start or another server. Some are brandnew make mistakes ... getting frustrated and leaving again. Or they don't see any perspective of growing in the short term. You have to understand that it takes sometimes years until somebody on an old server resets because maybe it took him also 3 years untill he was able to grow. And usually with every new server start everybody thinks it will be much easier and much better for them to start on one new server. And after a few weeks they figure out it was not that easy at all and we will see the first questions again in the Forum when we have a new server coming up.
You have very interesting game, but you need to use all potentials
i give you few ideas
- server with leasing restriction - hard mode server
- server with racing for goal in game:
- who will transfer more passengers in 365 days
- who will have more money in 365 days
for win give winner 100 credits and some forum rank (almost free for team)
After you publish winner(s) reset server and start again
It's you're game and your call,
I can only suggest what i see as weakness of system
and we will see the first questions again in the Forum when we have a new server coming up.
So... when do you plan to start the new server? :)
First ..... NO it's not my game ;) i am just a normal player helping here in my personal free time.
Here is a Link to a discussion on an accelerated Server .... and the Answer from Martin is very clear .... it is not possible right now.
Your Idea of buying airplanes .... I personally do not like it and thats because it will slow down the growth in the beginning ... that's fine and I have no problem with that, but if you Buy an airplane it is in your possession and you are able to take a loan with that you can buy another airplane and then you will get a higher loan and so on .... so the "Prolem"will be delayed but not avoided. With a kind of Rankung game where you get a kind of reward...... It will lead to more "fighting" and reporting because "he did this" or "he did that". He is cheating ... and no he is cheating more ..... If you Link with FB and other social medias there you'll find many offers where you can get some Bonus credits if you put in a codeword and it's done regularly ....
I think your motivation is fueled by a kind of frustration that there are so many airlines that have already so many airplanes..... We have to take that into a different light i think. First if you read in the forum it always say start with small planes and so on ....... thats right ... on an old server. On a new server starting in the US China India and Europe etc ... you can already start with bigger airplanes ... put in a good service, good seats and you can ask easily for 150% and more above standard Price. So you have companies that grow in a decent rate but much quicker then a player that plays with Dash's and CRJ's and uses Standard Price plus 10%. Then you have players that in the case of Aspern uses the Seating bug to create an unfair advantage by using a bug. And to be very clear those will be Investigated and will face action against them after the Team and UAB took necessary measures but these will happen only next year because we have holidays and some of the team is enjoying their Holidays without beeing here online. We took already action against some companies that where using LET's for blocking slots. The start of Aspern was so far much smoother then the ones of Meigs, Gatow and Pearls.
So... when do you plan to start the new server? :)
Thats not my call ;)

That's what I also thought, I started Aspern when it started.
Leased two 737-900ER BGW, which I have good experience with from previous servers.
Used good seats: Y-Comfort C-Recliner Shorthaul and good service.
After a month I had to reset because I earned too little.
Now I use a little “poorer” seats: Y-Leisure Plus C-Comfort Plus and EMB 195
And now I earn good.
Why did it go wrong with the 737? Maybe I had a bad plan, maybe I had a “better” competitor or a combination of both.
What I saw was that they grew fast, those who leased four 737-600, inserted slimline HD seats in both Y, C and F with high prices.
My hat off to whoever found this out, “genius”.
Although those who used this “loophole” get punished, this has had a major influence on how Aspern has evolved.
It will be interesting to see how many people get punished and how.
