With storm Clara battering the UK at the moment BA112 B744 JFK-LHR broke the records for subsonic US-UK flight. The flight took 4 hours and 56 minutes landing 1 hour 38 minutes early. Behind it was Virgin VS 4 A350-1000 which took 4 hours and 57 minutes. The previous record was held by a Norweigan B787 with 5 hours 13 minutes set in 2018.
According to reports the tail winds on the flights reached 265mph and max speeds of over 830mph were recorded.
If Branson knew that he would have instructed the A350 to speed up.
