The new version number display with a flashing gif-style button is a huge distraction. A small static number display as was done before was much neater and did not bother. This one is an eyesore.

In Paine, I think we should know what is changing, since it might be really important, but outside of Paine, I fully agree with you
…. and… it was just changed. How fast
I don’t know
In Paine it changes more often than in all other servers
Didn’t change anything, the behavior has been this ever since I added the change logs to the game: As soon as you click the version and the change log popup opens once, we set a cookie that you’ve seen it. The highlight will only re-appear once when a new version has been deployed.
For regular game worlds, clicking it in one world will disable the highlight in all worlds. Paine is separate, for obvious reasons.
Since it’s cookie-based at the moment, playing the game in different browsers will require you to click it more than once to hide it.
And before you ask: No, I have no plans to make this configurable at this time
. The way this is displayed will likely change with the UI refresh anyway.
