North Korean Airports

Is there any future plan to add other airports in North Korea?

Pyongyang, FNJ is an only airport for North Korea for now.

Air Koryo serves not only scheduled international flights to China but it looks like Air Koryo has got some domestic routes as well.

I am not too sure if North Koreans have got freedom of right to travel between places in the country, they might have to obtain travel permission from the state to do that.

Though, last year of 2015 some Tour Company provided North Korean Aviation Tour which included tourists to travel on its domestic routes. (Webpage for that particular tour seems to be down, It is ended I reckon) But there is other aviation tour set for this year. http://www.juchetravelservices.com/the-tours/195-2/english-aviation-tour/

Cheers

So if you know further commercially user airports with IATA Code, we would be glad if you send us a ticket to the support.

Hello sk,

I will search and investigate around on the internet.

All data I collect I will send a ticket to support.

Cheers!

There isn't clear official information, or I cannot find on the web on how many domestic flights are there between places in North Korea, but I could find some articles, Tour Company page and blog post about domestic routes in North Korea.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_in_North_Korea#Air_transport

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_airports_in_North_Korea

Wiki states basic situation of North Korean Air Transportation.

As I reckoned general North Koreans haven't got freedom of movement, whoever wants to travel in the country should obtain travel permission. Which in Airlinsim that could may be effect Passenger Demand generation between places in North Korea.

:D

Do any of those 100% have a regular scheduled service?

I cannot be sure that these information is reliable. But international schedule that is provided by Uri Tour seems to be relevant. http://uritours.com/air-koryo

Uri Tour also provides quite recent schedules for domestic flights http://uritours.com/blog/2015-air-koryo-flight-updates

In recent year travelling to North Korea has been becoming more popular, and there is, I reckon, air transport demand internally.

Just an example of bookable PEK to FNJ flight on the internet. http://www.skyscanner.com.hk/transport/flights/pek/fnj/160204/160310/airfares-from-beijing-capital-to-pyongyang-in-february-2016-and-march-2016.html?adults=1&children=0&infants=0&cabinclass=economy&rtn=1&preferdirects=false&outboundaltsenabled=false&inboundaltsenabled=false#details

But are these not charter flights? (ie. not scheduled)

Well Ian frankly God wouldn't know I reckon. ;)

Freedom and availability of general information regarding North Korea is, in my view, quite doubtful, so I can just judge and assume any data on internet is fairly reliable.

Uri Tour, Ameican based business run by Korean American owner. Perhaps has got trustworthy data, could?

So whatever they provide, as they wrote on the page that it is scheduled. I am assuming it is actually scheduled flights.

But I really don't know. I love to travel and discover myself of this mysterious, but at the same time quite fascinating country.

God may not but you would hope “the fat one” would

My point is that unless there is a scheduled service it’s not generally considered for AS. I was just sceptical as the website looked more for charters

Love to travel there myself

Fair dinkum.

At the end of the day, North Korea is also where people lives everyday and fairly sure there would be some kind of demand for air travel.

Most likely not for general folks though.

More likely for tourists, soldiers, government officials, national labours and few allowed travellers.

I do hope it is actual schedule for internal flights for North Korea. So It can be considered for Airlinesim

I would definitely love to operate North Korea based business in Airlinesim, and grant reliable internal and overseas travel for North Korean folks!
