Offensive Logo?

Does anyone find this logo offensive? I'm an American Indian, specifically Cherokee, and I think it's great. I just wanted a general opinion from the group before I used it. Thanks, everyone!

why should it be offensive?

No it seems fine to me I actually think its very good!!

Kahael, In the US, some people find American Indian imagery racist or offensive, owing to the fact that many tribes were killed and exploited when the settlers came from Europe. I know about the history of my tribe, but I am not offended by people using such imagery. Actually, one could make the same argument over AeroMexico's ACTUAL logo of the Aztec warrior/god.

And thanks BMI, I love it too!

I see no issues with that logo. But then, I am not an American, end even less so Indian.

Just use it - if anyone is offended, he will let you know or report you. But as the others, I cannot see an offense,

People will find offense with anything - even if you farted in your own house! An image of anything used as a logo should not be an offense, it should be a tribute! (unless it is profane or indecent).

@okie, it was just a rhetorical question. Iam with Midas.

I believe any symbol which describes you or your heritage should be put on a logo. Looking at it legally it is perfectly following the AS rules.

AS rules, not laws please.

Oh my goood please stop with these ultramegagiga liberal political correct offensive things. Why would I care if my logo is offensive to someone? Its my logo, I made this because I like it and not to “offend” someone. Damn these over sensitive people

We are a (mostly) European community. We don’t get offended by every little dipshit. So OP, don’t worry.

And even if, just suck it up and live on.

Although, that being said, this is the internet.  You know there's some twatwaffle out there who would create a offensive logo because they could.  As AS is a German company, there are some legal laws (copyright, propaganda) to consider as well; there's no review process for the large company logo that appears on the airline profile page, only for the small logo that shows up on the arrivals/departures board and the airport information page.  I'm genuinely surprised that someone hasn't turned their large logo into a 300x100px dickpic - an actual-size image of the poster's.

That has happend.

Internet...

It starts to become awkward when another one tries to top it to show that he’s got a bigger one…

My two cents, but from all the discussion the proper phraseology is Native American.  Indian was an original term to describe incorrectly the NA from India or West Indies.  Unless that is your ancestry is from India.

I do not see where this logo is offensive, it does not denigrate or put anyone down.

Btw: We do check large logos as well… There’s just no approval needed in advance, contrary to small logos.

Most American Indians actually prefer to be called just Indian or American Indian. To me, Native American sounds like someone who was born in the Americas, be they South, Central, or North American. But it's all just splitting hairs anyway. As my Papa said to me, "You can call me saint, and you can call me sinner, as long as you don't call me in too late for dinner!"

Sorry, guys, this thread seems to have veered waaaay off topic!

However, when i made a new logo on Riem, you guys rejected it, whil you accepted the other one. The difference was that i made the new one with different font…
