I think the issue can be solved by voting with your feet.
1.) It is not the team's fault if you do not read the game world description
2.) It is not the team's fault if this results in you becoming unhappy after realizing (or maybe not even realizing) you failed to do so.
3.) You can always leave for one or more of the other game worlds and become happy ever after.
4.) A restart doesn't really make sense. Adding another game world with different settings would. Some players are probably very happy the way it is. These usually are the people who have no reason to come here and complain or vote or... you name it.
So just delete your airline, set up a new one anywhere else. I did, I am happy on ellinikon for the time being.
I read the description. The description doesn't say that there is one particular aircraft totally underpriced while the rest of older aircraft are just fine and that you can abuse it to large-scale-slotblock any airport you like.
As someone returning to the game after a long departure, i started up on the new otto world, to get my feet wet again.
I made the mistake of trying to start a "regular" game. lol
I have discovered that buying the oldest/cheapest is the best way to get started, then once you get funds rolling in you can then start upgrading. I think most ppl that are upset here are due to the lack or "realism" that this world is offering. I think this was an attempt by the developer to try out something different, do I think they will do the exact same thing again, perhaps not. I do agree that having an entire world where 3 or 4 old planes appear to be massive money makers is neither realistic or going to be hugely 'fun' long term, as it can be exploited massively by those who have any knowledge of the game.
I would suggest that for future worlds that you can have the "any" plane motto but when you purchase them they come with an automatic age penalty say 15-20 years, have much higher landing fee penalties due to the noise category, and largely increased maintenance costs. Also have the price of fuel not set like all servers, let the price be artificially higher - thus making use of older technologies much less advantageous.
Those would be a couple of suggestions I would have if you start a new Otto-like world. As for shutting this one down, I voted no - I am enjoying flying 727s again :) my first flight was on a 727 when i was but a wee one, my second was on a beautiful bright orange DC9 flown by CP Air in Canada, that livery back then was amazing. Silver and Orange - amazing. I say let this server run it's course and see how it ends up. The odd thing is that new entrants to it will always be able to start up immediately with large numbers of aircraft, realistic no, fun perhaps.
So i like the old plane idea, but would have suggestions for future iterations.
