I am brand new to this game. I followed the step by step guide and get the general idea. However I purchased a 727 of some type. It was 20+ years old and after a week the most bookings I got was like 7/162 or so.
I am now starting over. What is the most common plane to buy/lease to start with?
Firstly: Where is your hub? How much competition do you have? And what route is it?
The most common plane to LEASE is a Bombairdier Q-400 series aircraft. Their price per seat is low so you can get high profit.I recommend that you lease many planes than to buy few.
Yes Ive spent hour researching them. Then when I decide to go find one, there are none for sale. I dont know a lot about planes, but the ones I do know about are never for sale/lease.
I will take the first piece of info I got and that is to go with the Bombairdier Q-400
Notice, for aircraft still in production, you don’t have to check the aircraft market. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you can request a quotation directly from the manufacturer. It will be new and most of the time cheaper if leasing.
I recommend to use the "aircraft type evaluation" to compare different aircraft on specific routes. This gives you a good hint which aircraft to choose.
In general, there are serveral commonly used and profitable aircraft: Bombardier Dash8 Q400, Bombardier CRJ 700/900, Embraer 170/190/195, Boeing 737-600/700/800/900ER, Airbus A318/319/320/321 (sorted by size)
You also might consider chosing a different server/location for your enterprise where you have to cope with less competition. If you do a little resarch in different countries on old servers, you’ll always find a gap to start.
I already have a fleet of 727 and 737 airplanes, is any strategy I should follow to help me along?
Hi,
- get rid of the 727's.
- find a few good routes that make money, use these as cash cows.
- gradually expand your network.
- the cheapest way to test a new route is to remove one return flight (I mean just one day) from an existing flight schedule and have your plane make one flight to that airport.
- planes that arrive from the east, should connect to planes that depart to the west, so you create connecting traffic.
- don't be afraid to fail. You can always press the reset button. You will get another 10 million and you can start again ;-)
