Question about the latest traveller demand change

Hi, I did not check ingame but as an African airline I do fly some “triangle” connections. Like A → B ->C and return is C->D → A. So there is no “return” flight. How will this be handled in the changed demand calculation?

A similiar thing could happen for Airlines in any bigger market. Think at a Berlin → Ibizza → Madrid → Brussel → Berlin circle.

I could not find anything in the forum posts except “without return path with the same airline = no passengers…”

What matters is the carrier, not the connection. So as long as it’s you operating the flights, a pax might take A-B-C on the outbound and C-D-A on the inbound.

Im on PC now and rechecked my connections. I did have a few of them but the only connection (still active and) working that way is on a saturday: Tunis - Khartoum - Entebbe and from there on sunday Entebbe - Addis Ababa Bole - Tunis. Its only that circle. I should not expect passengers on the Entebbe - Addis Ababa leg ? As the Addis Ababa - Entebe leg (or Entebe → Khartoum leg) would be only 7d later and would require a passenger to fly from Addis Ababa to Tunis, wait for 7d there and then fly from Tunis via Khartoum to Entebbe ? As that flight is alreday instanced here an example: flight?id=27247026

If you’re having anything like my luck, expect to see bookings fall through the floor. I think if you’re doing anything other than point to point/out and back trips, this hits you VERY hard.

Maybe its a bit early but I might see a drop in some connections. Tunis → Antalya. Probably because It connected different airports in then out. I checked some of the connections. And yes, I found Tozeur (small city in Tunis). It connects perfectly towards Antalya but it does not on the tour back. When searching a connection from Tozeur towards Antalya via OSR its not showing up.

Of course I dont know how many passengers would use that connection at all, but I am sure there is many many more connections like that. I guess all of those connections that wont work anymore will add up to quite some traffic loss.

To be fair: There is no other connection (from me or someone else) back (from Antalya to Tozeur). So if people fly out, how can they come back (except flying to the country and then travel by car/train/whatever). Not sure if that behaviour could be solved - or at least minimized - once those population zones with airports only being gates are implemented.

For now I have a feeling that many smaller airports will see a drop in passengers in most cases. That change in passenger behaviour will probably have an impact, especially on companies in weaker markets. It will be even harder to play those countries so less people may play them in the end. And until it is not even possible to see how many passengers are connection from where, its allmost impossible to establish connections. + Currently I see some high numbers on “from own connection” on connections that have no inbound. I guess its the “returning” travellers. But in the end its even more misleading/confusing. As you said: Strong focus on Point to Point connection.

Uh, I have to check that, thanks for the heads-up.
