Quick seat sales

I am wondering how long it will take me to sell tickets. my flights start in 3 days and no bookings have come in. my prices are much lower than my compeditors and my route structure is only a little smaller.

A demand calculation on every Airport is done once within 24 hrs. If you open up the Airport Page you will see when the demand calculattion will be done . Its not only about the Price. you need also good seats and Service as well as most important an good Hub Network with good connecting flights to fill your seats.

Hi. I am new to AS. One question regarding flight selling and occupation. I can see in "Flight Plan" under Fleet Management only the upcoming 3 days are displayed... does this mean I can only sell tickets for flights in max. 3 day advance? Thank you.

That’s exactly that. Flights are booked in the system 72 hours before their departure time, and start being bookable by pax 72 hours before their arrival time.

Thus, passengers will be able to book flights for the upcoming three days only.

Although this doesn’t quite reflect the reality, that also means that you get a lot more agility and margin of error when changing schedules or trying new routes. worth to note that pax in AS do not have date preferences (they will basically book any available flight at the time of the passenger distribution for their departure airport — of course preferring the highest-ranked flights).

Gracias Univ.

Indeed this does resemble very little the actual real life scenarios, hence my initial doubt about if I was missing something. But yes it gives you a bigger scheduling flexibility, which is nice.

Btw, do you know to transfer pax from a cancelled flight to another operated by your airline? How is this done? Or in case I need to change the equipment (a/c) - go smaller or bigger depending the load factor...

Thank you for your thoughts.

A.

You can transfer flightplans or individual flights to another plane - if the turnaround times are the same on both planes. Cancelled flights can not be transferred.

I think he mean passengers booking with a connection flight

No - I understand that he wants to transfer flights / flightplans to other planes (equipment).

Yes, I meant when you have a low load factor and want to reassign from say 70-seater to a 30-seater. Not sure if and how this is possible.

Once the flight is “booked” which is 72 hours before and appears on the flights tab, you cannot change it to another smaller/larger aircraft

1. Put up a browser tab with the schedule of the plane (A) which you want to delete the flights from; and another tab with the schedule of the plane (B) to receive that particular flight

2. Delete todays flights, that you want to move, from plane As schedule.

3. Refresh the tab with plane Bs schedule.

4. Assign a new flight to plane B, by using an existing flight number. Choose the flight number that you want to move from plane A to plane B.

5. Tick "all" days, and apply the changes. Now you can change the departure/arival times and speed, to adjust with the schedule of plane B.

6. For the return flight, do 4 and 5 again.

Do not forget to activate flight plan, before you leave the window!

I always prefer to have an extra tab of plane As old schedule up, as a reference and to look at. So I can more easily remember which timeslots I was using
