Replacing aircraft

Hi managers,

I have 3 different types of aircrafts in my fleet: 8 Dash8’s, 1 BAE and 3 LET’s.

I want to replace the BAE with the CRJ because ot the maintenance cost which is a lot higher for the BAE due to its age.

The question is this: if i get the CRJ now that will mean the i have 4 diff types of maintenace types in my fleet and that will sky-rocket the maintenance costs, correct?

I want to bring the CRJ in now so that i start it in the same route as the BAE before i stop the BAE from that route.

I assume that once i terminate the contract with the BAE the maintenace cost will go down again.

Is this the best way to do it? Or should i first get rid of the BAE and the get the CRJ?

Many thanks,

Costas

a fourth maintenance category increases your maintenance cost by 15%. depending on your fleet, this usually makes a difference of approx. 0.5 % to 1% of your total costs.

so the best way is where the most a/cs are flying…

Great…

…thanks for your fast reply…
