Hi…very strange thing i am facing with scheduling.
I run my hub in Antalya, Turkey
Inbound flights arrive by latest 6am / Outward flights start 7:15 (1:15h is the transfer time in Antalya)
Flights are smooth - there is no delays in arrivals. This is all local flights.
However, each of my arriving flights has a different scheduling when it comes to outward connections. Some of my 7:15 flights do not even appear on the schedule of some of my inbound flights and vice versa . Strange? Please any suggestions?
Where are the origins and destinations? If the connecting flight is longer than a certain multiple (I think 1.5 or 2x) AS pax won’t consider it. There’s more in my tutorial as well.
A hub should always be as much in the centre of your network as possible. You don’t state where those flights connect to, and to which other airports you expect them but don’t.
Flights from Ankara have the least connections, which is not too surprising to me. Antalya is in the south of Turkey. So it makes little sense to fly from the north (Ankara) to Antalya to fly back to Istanbul. The direct detour compared to a direct flight is way too long.
However, Antalya is sort of in the middle between West and East. So passengers from Bodrum can and will connect to the East, like Adana, or maybe Kayseri. But you won’t get a connection from Bodrum via Antalya to Izmir.
Since Ercan is south of Antalya, it might again make sense to connect to anything in the North of Antalya, like Ankara, Istanbul, etc.
