Seats lost when aircraft goes on sell?

I was trying to sell an aircraft, then finally I decided to keep it. With the aircraft back in my fleet, I noticed the existing seating configuration disappeared. Does the seats still exist somewhere and how can I go back to install them without paying again for the same seats I already acquired once?

Sorry, but yes. The seats are "gone with the wind".

It´s has always been like this, it is very stupid but it is the way it is. Previously it was even worse when one lost all seats just for adding some seat pitch or changing some seats even if most old seats where kept.

By this you mean now it works differently? Say I want to add one more row reducing the existing Y-seats pitch. Will I only pay for the added seats or I will be charged for the whole cabin? If I pay only for the "added" seats, how does this work in the cabin configuration tab?

Yes, you will only pay for the additional seats that you add. If you change only the business class seats, only these seats will be charged. Obviously, only the same type of seats that stay in the cabin configuration will not be charged again.

The cost is calculated automatically.

One more example. Say I have an Let-410 with 16Y seats. I decide to finish the existing leasing agreement and lease same type cheaper elsewhere. Before the aircraft is returned to the lessor, I remove the seats and then install same seating for the new aircraft. Still I get charged for the new seating. So the 16Y seats that I have uninstalled from the previous plane disappear just like that?

Yes.

as soon as seats are removed from the AC for any reason (new config, put on the market, returned leased a/c,...) they are gone for ever. No way to "store" seats on AS.

I wish A/S coders will at least put an extra level of check such as "Are you sure you want to remove seats?", before action is executed!

Just yesterday, I lost AS$193,000 simply becos somehow my mouse clicked the “remove seat” button while I was busy scheduling (my laptop has very sensitive mouse). I ended up having to pay for the seats all over again!!

PS: There is a “remove seat” or “re-configuration” button option on the route plan page.

Don’t you have to select remove seats option AND then press confirm?

Are you sure you want to remove seats?

Are you really sure you want to remove seats?

Maybe you want to think about it again to consider if you want to remove the seats, so please think again if you want to remove the seats.

Are you definitely sure you want to remove seats?

Where does that end?

BTW I do NOT want any kind of additional confirmation for seat removal as opposed to you. Too many additional clicks and confirmation steps. For me it’s OK the way it is.

rubiohiguey2000,

I always thought you typed before you think. Now I know it for a fact!

Where did your multiple and exaggerated re-affirmations come from?? Was that what was said?

you know, sometimes, it is wise to just stay off the keyboard, if you have no logical contribution to make!

Everyone knows - it is a standard practice in coding to cross-check a crucial  decision before executing an irreversible action. This is coding 101.

This is why the system asks you before deleting or restarting your airline on a server! Imagine if it didn’t ask and just deleted at the slightest click?

It is a simple cross-reference intended to avoid mistakes so that unintended actions are not executed.

Makes me wonder why people are unable to appreciate anything until it happens to them! smh.

Don't you have to select remove seats option AND then press confirm?

Apparently not! You just click the button and it instantly deletes seats or (as the case may be) changes it into a different configuration.

That is not the case. Or I have never seen it happen so far.

You HAVE to press "remove seats" AND the activate that scenario.

So you pressed the button "remove seats" instead of adding a new configuration or whatsever AND THEN you have activated the removal. There is no need to double or triple check.

Anyone who can, should feel free to go to their Flight Plan page and click the "Remove Seat" button - see if it asks you any question at all!

I can’t see how anybody can find such a request irritating. It seems to me simple, straightforward and logical.

Like I said, the "remove seat" button was mistakenly pressed (was using a trigger-happy laptop) and the unintended consequence was that the seat was instantly removed. There was no confirmation - it just happened instantly and that was that!

I will appreciate it if you guys will try to read what is being said before hitting the keyboard. It makes conversation a lot more rewarding.

It is not necessary as there are more than one action to do. It is not true that you push one button and the seats are gone.

Just my 2 cents.

Highscore, why don't you try it?? If you are going to argue, at least have your facts straight. Why not simply try it!

In fact, I dare you to try it!

? I did! There is no way that you remove the seats without hitting 2 buttons! Period!

Right everyone, I hope we have all had a good nights sleep.

So the following is not open to discussion and are facts. If anyone has an issue with this you can either contact me via pm, another moderator via pm, or use the report button at the bottom right.

A forum is somewhere that ideas and views can be exchanged. This is also a community and therefore if you post you have to expect not only to have it respected but also for it to be challenged, and equally, you should respect the other user's point of view, even if it opposes yours. The use of CAPS LOCK, short sentences, and explanation marks every sentence!!!! or rhetorical questions does neither project that you respect other players views, but also very quickly makes the discussion turn non-productive. I appreciate many may feel passionate about something, but you might not always be right, and you should listen and respect others views, and not turn it into a kindergarten.

The other thing that people fail to respect is the fact the AS resources are extremely limited. I appreciate people are passionate and are very happy to complain about coding or realism, however they have to realize the business case for AS is very limited. I have done the research and you will not find a more realistic airline simulation. Yes, it has its flaws and simplifications, but if you consider what has been achieved by one person!!!! I think it's a miracle. The fact that he has allowed us access to it and therefore had to add many many many more costs it's amazing. So please all bare in mind that there is one developer, not full time, and you pay very little money comparatively to access his work. It simply not going to happen that any and every request will be listened to, or acted upon. Especially if it is only one player out of thousands requiring a day worth of programming. We simply cannot customize the game for one player. The other strange perception is that as a player you can decide on how the game works. Everyone is offered a generous trial period to see if they want to spend their money on the game or not. You pay for the game as is at that point. If there is development, fantastic, if there is none, then you can't feel cheated. Remember Sonic 1? The game is as is and never got developed, it's still a favorite.

The last point is that if you feel something is wrong with the game then feel free to report it via the support tab. From there you will be given a case number. Again you may feel that it is the most important thing in the world, but you don't see the mountains of support cases open. You will be prioritized based on how important AS feels your case is, and again you have to read about limited resources. So in short...report it properly, be patient, suck it up, they will get to you as and when yours is deemed the most worthy of the resources. Complaining about it at every turn is going to use more resources (this is currently taking up my time for working on something else for AS). Been brutally honest, we have lost supporters and players over the years through the lack of resources, and likely to continue to do so, if you feel that you fall in that category, unfortunately it's a case of so be it.

Keeping it simple...guys play nice, respect other peoples views, before you press post to consider your wording, and if it could be written less emotive, or polite.

Again none of the above is to continue on as a discussion in this thread and will be considered thread drift. Warning:- Any return to bitterness the thread will be closed permenantly.

So back to the original discussion.... My opinion on the thread.... As Midas says there is no confirmation in Yeager on removing seating from the flight plan page. I personally never ever use that section on that page, and was introduced as a comfort feature a few years ago. However I agree that the need for more confirmation or button pressing in this game should not occur, there is already far too much. For the sake of the small risk/loss I personally see no need for it. If your mouse is that sensative (I can't even see anything else nearby I'd press) have you considered reducing the sensativity of it?
