Yes I understand how the system works but It's just not realistic that turning a such a small a/c shuld take that long. I real life yoy can turan a 737-800 in 30 min....
Also keep in mind, that for some turnaround activities, we have no real model in place yet. Things that come to mind and that might affect regional operations more than others are cabin cleaning and baggage handling. In both cases we have implemented an anticipated maximum value it could take as to be on the safe side once we implement proper models. The new times can only be shorter.
I fully agree that turn around times are not realistic at all - especially with the new feature “flexible turn around times”.
22min cleaning for a CRJ 900/1000 is more than twice in the real world. In average airline companies calculating with 8min per 100 seats for cleaning. De-boarding a 737-800 at a remote stand goes within max 5 min and boarding within 10-15 min for about 180 passengers and not depending on the airport size. Even at LHR, ATL or CDG a 738/321 is back on leg within 45-50min.
Another thing I would love to see would be the adjustment of min transfer times. At FRA Lufthansa offers a bunch of connecting flights with 45min or even 35min transit time only. To adjust transit times for big Airports such as ATL to 75min, DUS down to 60min and Berlin to 45min would meet today’s real world standards.
I saw that AS reserves the right to be the most realistic aviation management game - would be really cool to see some adjustments.
Anyhow I do understand that the new server is just for trial purposes and looking fwd to see the upcoming game worlds
In fact, most cabin "cleaning" is done in "available time" in the real world and more often then not is just the crew giving the cabin a quick check, picking up rubbish and ensuring there are safety cards in all seat pockets. The other extreme would of course be to bring in an actual cleaning crew and clean everything properly. Of course it makes a difference which of these two option an airline choses.
As said above, in AS you can't make this choice. Yet. So the cleaning times we currently have implemented are intentionally picked to represent "proper cleaning". Once AS allows to select a cleaning level, the times will become shorter.
As for the transfer times: Sure, our transfer time values might be a bit dated. But they are also universal: They are merely based on the size category we list for each airport, not on actual infrastructure. It's a model. And as all the other models in AS, will probably be replaced by a better one eventually.
