Is or was there ever an Airline sim that was set in the past? One that started in, say, 1960 and went through time with new aircraft types being introduced? I realize with the game going by "real time", that it'd take a long while to get to the Boeing 737s and Superjets and whatnot, so maybe one that started in the 70s or 80s with the introduction of the 727s, 737s, the MD80 series...
With the new space airline sim being launched, I just got curious. Might be interesting, if everything was actually set for back then. Prices/settings available/etc.
I have tried. I don't post without searching first. I haven't gotten any answers. I don't even know what I'd be searching for. 'Ancient' doesn't work. Neither does antiquated, old, or obsolete.
One of the earliest airline sims that I'm aware of is Aerobiz Supersonic, which is actually a console game that was made for both Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. While a bit simpler than today's online multi-player online sims, it is still a relatively realistic business simulation and fun to play (in my opinion). It has four different scenarios which are based on eras: 1955-1975, 1970-1990, 1985-2005, and 2000-2020. The earliest era starts with the DC-6, L-1049, IL-14, Viscount, etc. I was addicted to the game back in the early/mid-1990s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerobiz_Supersonic
If you search for it online, you can find both the console versions and downloadable versions.
