As the question states, when exactly is the passenger/cargo revenue accrued?
When the booking is made (e.g. demand calculation time), or when the flight takes-off or finishes?
The reason I ask is because with a test flight cancellation, I was deducted the exact amount of ticket/cargo sales, not the double or triple amount as was suggested in another thread (cancellation penalty). If the revenue is accrued when the booking is made and pax are allocated to the flight (demand calculation time), then from what I have seen, cancelling the flight only deducts the paid price but no additional penalty.
When you click on the "$" and then take the 3rd one from the top "Bank account" you will see that the revenue will be booked on your account the moment the aircraft takes off. You will find there as well the costs in case a flight is cancelled. .....

I believe that there is a penalty. As I told you before, the flight loss is according to the revenue of the flight that you cancel. So, when your flight does depart, you gain the revenue. But, your bank account will be deducted exactly the amount of revenue when you cancel the flight as you did not gain anything from these passengers, instead you have to pay "extra" for the so called "penalty".
Benjamin & Peter - it makes sense now. So I accrue revenue only when the flight departs, and not at the time of booking. if I cancel, i do not accrue revenue, but instead have to pay. That's clear. What was not clear whether I was really refunding the money (yes I know you wrote there was a penalty) or was paying without actually accruing revenue.
