Gabon, Madagascar, Somalia did not ratify Abuja Treaty, the treay behind the Yamoussoukro Decision,
Eritrea did not sign the treay,
however they are considered part of the Tamoussoukro Decision in the game.
Perhaps they should be removed?
Noticably Djibouti is also in the same situation and is not included in YD in AS.
But that document apparently also listed AU there, does that mean every member states of Africa Union should also be part of this decision?
However on the other hand, the implementation of the treaty seems to be very weak. A few years ago AU called for implementation of the YD to create a Single African Air Transport Market by June 2017, but so far only about a dozen countries reaffirmed their commitment to the YD. Should the african treaty in game only include those countries and rename itself to SAATM?
The member states in AS seems to have very little to do with the actual member states, at least if I understand Wikipedia correctly.
Egypt, Kenya, and (a likely a few others) should be YD member states - but isn’t in AS. Sudan should NOT be a member state, but is.
This is honestly a bit confusing and makes flight planning for African air operators harder.
If the argument here is that adding countries with large airports would make game dynamics harder … well, that’s a bit like asking to remove Germany and France from the EU in-game because Frankfurt, Munich and CDG are too influential as potential hubs.
Maybe I misunderstoud Yamoussoukro. In that case, where am I wrong?
Not sure if you misunderstoud it (i didnt checket the link) but i think the problem is that its not so easy to remove it from existing games as it would trash many routes/airlines of players.
As a member of the data Team i can say you that we will take a look into it, but i think if it is changing, then only on new worlds.
Same for the EU Countrys. But i am 99.9% sure that they will stay as they are ingame. For special Rules you can join or start Private worlds or just play it out yourself on public worlds.
Thank you for your research about the Yamoussoukro!
