It depends on specific markets. My LET410s are doing well with such airstrips.
My LET410's are even doing well on numerous 1 bar airports.. Sure, no gigantic profits, but it is all feeder for the hub.
My 727-100s have easy pickings on such airports, heading into a hub (in my case Indianapolis). Example my 727-200 ADV RE. (winglets) On an Indy to Dayton route makes about $4000 a flight. These routes can be real nice, but you need a good central hub. On a different route another '200 (from Indy to Lunken) Makes about 1000 per flight at about 75% loaded. like I said, a good hub increases PAX so because they transfer to other planes to get where they are going.
If your airline is a decent size, I would recommend an ATR 42 if you want to serve 2-4 bar airports, as an above comment stated, they are mostly useful for feeding passengers to external connections
Even a 739 works for 1 and 2 bar airports and can be fully booked if you have a good working hub.

Indeed especially when you have a huge hub with over 10,000 weekly departures ;)

15.000, with all subsidiaries. But this works only in Denver.
