6.2 to all servers?

Will route managment disappear, like in Quimby? The Quimby route management system is really too different from the ordinary one to be of any use....

Seems like speed managment of your planes, also wil make it even more important to hog those good slots, before the competitor grabs them. Cause, now, you can keep the slots, at least in short or medium distance flights, even if the new plane on the route normally flies faster than the old one.

Well, well. Wil be interesting to see how this will affect the gameplay…

I would really like to keep the old route managment system. The new one is not as straightforward as the old one. There is too much data on the managment page, making it more diffusing.

And please! Revert the colours to black text on a white background. This is much better for the eyes to read, than wite text on a grey background! At least make it optional for the user to revert the colours to the old setting?

Regarding the colours of the user interface, there are three options to choose from: dark, light, classic.

The "classic" is exactly what you are mentioning and was designed for that purpose.

haven't try the 6.2 in quimby yet, but I look forward for the new scheduling system in which you can override the cruising speed.

hopefully the lower cruise speed will also save some fuel burn, like when you set cost index to 10 in airbus aircraft, but it might be to complicated to simulate.

Lower cruise speed will consume more fuel in AS because what the lower cruise speed is simulating is basically pattern circling at the destination airport.

940 km/h plane ... 100% fuel burn

950 km/h = 930 km/h as far as fuel burn is concerned

980 km/h = 900 km/h as far as fuel burn is concerned

Hi

Are the updates to the pricing not included in the 6.2 servers? Long haul seems very low profit still

Hi

Nope, and hopefully they will never be!

I like the pricing the way it is.

You don't like legacy pricing for long haul, I do not like new gameworld pricing for short and medium haul.

Managed to change those colours to the normal, but. Everything else, just seems to be turned around.

Gone is the most important tool, route managment. Has been exchanged with some very different things with way too many bars and numbers. Menues and other stuff are too misplaced, to even seem like the old game, before 6.2.

It is really difficult to learn the game all from the start, when your airlines has turned to formidable sizes, and is in utter need of day to day management!

How about reverting the 6.2, and rather take the changes little by litte? Just to let the players be able to adopt to those changes as they come?

I deleted one of my airlines yesterday, due to theese changes. And I have announced the deletion of my second largest airline, at the Aspern server, also mainly, due to the whole game changing into something inrecognicable....

I have planes to make schedules for. There is no longer a simple way to get a quick overview and then be able to make a quick decision on what to do. I need to have several open tabs, just to see who flies the route, combined with the load, for the before, present and coming days. Neither can I no longer in route management, se which plane flies which flight! Why not do just one change at a time?

All this is just sad.... :-(((

Maybe you still haven't found the right way or did it some way like no one else has done before. We had two game worlds running on this for testing and no one experienced such problems that he has to delete his airline...

I know quite a few players that stopped playing on Quimby really quick because they thought 6.2 was a disaster. Personally I will try to give it at least a chance, but for now I can only resort to sarcasm. Too early for a final judgement, but it's clear that the UI needs some real improvements, and soon.

Sarkasm is a bad adviser as you don't transport the real problem and we can not find out where you have a problem and how to solve it in your interest ;)

To be honest, I tried out Quimby for a short period - but realized shortly after that the design/new gameplay wasen't really my thing. Currently I am trying to adopt, but I'm 50/50 about this will be the end of a nearly 3-year adventure. Will be interesting to see..

I too find the whole upgrade a complete downgrade. Its all an over complication of a great game. Now all i see in front of me is numerous numbers, links and mess.

Navigation through all the different links is so difficult to understand. I played the test server to give it a go and understand but failed then. I've just tried to find my full flight schedule for transferring flights from a CRJ700 to A320 and can no longer view it and flick back as before.

I cant highlight my disappointment enough with this new version. I cant see me lasting too much longer with it.

I think we are on the same page. I liked the simplicity before. Now there's numbers and text everywhere.

Constructive criticism from me would be; make the pages more “light”, with less information.

I do find difficulties adjusting with the new interface, but the new features should be interesting enough to push you to move on with the new one. I'm leaving my Ellinikon airline in auto pilot now while I do my transitioning sessions with completely new airline in Riem. Just consider it an entirely new game that you want to explore, giving it an cleansheet experience to start with.

Also if some people are about to leave because they could not get a hang of the new interface, then it means an even more reason to quickly embrace it and grab the opportunity they left.

I have to say the same as many of the other players, the new 6.2 is not an improvement.  The screens are really full of data, the ease of use is gone, there is less fun to get things done, if you look at the neew features, yes the speed is nice, but there is little info on the cost effect on the slower or fast flying. There is no cost index, this would have been nice.

As for the whole game play, its much more an accounting package than an airline simulation.

I dont know what other players are saying but at the UNITY Alliance board we are discussing the new version and in general most of us dont like it.  Maybe we need to simplify the screens a bit. And make it a bit more accessable.

Regards

Mike (Founder Unity Alliance)

Sure, there may be some screens to be simplified and more accessable. But please give us some more hints, were you occur these problems.

The same at the Rising Union alliance board.

Additional fuel costs can be derived from the performance tool, while this is still work-in-progress.

I guess Mike means rather 'administration' than 'accounting'. More depth (e.g. booking classes) comes along with a higher degree of administration, that's true. Too allow a wider set of competitive strategies and operational twists in the future, the separation of Inventory, Market Analysis and Scheduling is basic. Or from a realism approach, those aspects are genuinely something interlinked but different, that has been tracked together  in the past for simplification reasons that won't work in the future.

I also must express my profound irritation on the new version of airlinesim which i think was enforced upon us too soon and without adequate research. There were signs that the new version is not really usable, half of the people quit Quimby or visited their airline once every two weeks. The team should have researched, analyzed and crack stats on Quimby and its reception. This was just too fast and unmanageable.

I think some of the things are good but there are many things that are not. As someone said this is looking more like an accounting software then a simulation game.

Agree entirely. Some very clever things in this new addition, but sadly they get lost in the jungle that is the new platform.

I'm yet to try the new mobile version, but cannot for the life of me see how the mobile version can be easier to navigate though than the online version.
