Under transfer method "Sale and lease back" it says:
Aircraft is sold to the receiver at book value and immediately leased back. Schedules and settings are maintained.
Is this only possible with this option?
I'd like to create a subsidary in the near future and would like to transfer planes including cabin config/pilots and most importantly the schedule.
Is that possible? Otherwise I'd have to go step by step deleting the flight on my primary company and immediately create the flight for my subsidary....risky in a Slot-sensitive environment.
Well since it's a sale and lease back, the schedule and such are maintained, of course, because the operator of the airline doesn't change. Just how the finances are dealt with change.
In the meaning of selling/transferring an aircraft from a holding/parent to a subsidiary, you are setting the flight to be flown by another company. I don't think that can transfer over, since you also can't change the aircraft flying a certain flight between companies on the scheduling page. I would think that switching companies could cause all kinds of issues on the server side, including flight numbers, cabin configuration changes, service providing changes... all that is company-specific. For AS to implement it, they'd have to program it so the names had to match on many things including the cabins, services, maintenance providers, and the like. So.. I personally don't see it as possible, and not something to hold your breath on.
As an additional, why wouldn't you just keep those flights with your main airline and create new flights/destinations with your subsidiary/feeder? If they are profitable, and can remain so, why create the headache of trying to transfer the flights from one airline to another?

I may not be able to fill them outside my HUB waves, thats why I want to fit them into the same spot. However, I'll probably replace them with Airbus and the probem is solved :) .
The Idea was to free up 1 maintenance category for the mainline while having the option to include 2 more maintenance category for the Sub (Props and other small planes, purly dedicated to operate to 1/2/3-Bar Airports.) The costs associated wont justify for the mainline but are acceptable to create a Sub.
