American is proud to announce that our 20 brand new 737-800s are wearing beautiful Fifty Shades Freed liveries. Fifty Shades Freed is the third and last movie in the Fifty Shades trilogy about the adventures of Ana and Christian. American as a Seattle based carrier is a strong sponsor of Fifty Shades as the majority of the action is in Seattle. American has previously sponsored the success of Fifty Shades Darker and can't wait to see the climax in Fifty Shades Freed! As American is investing in 150 Seattle built 737s we could not have had a better aircraft to wear our Fifty Shades special liveries. These liveries have the same engines, winglets and tail designs as the standard American liveries but they carry distinctive grey "Fifty Shades Freed" titles and "Dont Miss The Climax". Each flight will from now until the end of February screen the trailer during boarding and the song "For You" will be used as boarding music together with a brand new Fifty Shades Safety Video. As soon as the movie releases it will be available on board American flights. Welcome on board the Fifty Shades Airline to the Fifty Shades City!

As Fifty Shades Freed has come out and thereby the Fifty Shades Movie franchise has ended and American has ended it´s sponsorship. The CEO personally expressed great disappointment of Fifty Shades Freed saying it is "one of the worst movies ever". With that terrible disappointment comes American's latest Sponsorship! American will be the carrier of Star Trek! The CEO is deeply interested in both Star Trek and Star Wars and with Indo sponsoring Star Wars, American Sponsoring Star Trek is the complementary decision. Star Trek is a fantastic franchise of movies, series and books which all will not be available on all Global flights. Together with this expansion American will be greatly expanding with our 230th A320NEO and over 400 planes! At the start of each flight the "Where no man has gone before" will be recited by William Shatner from the Original Series Intro. This phrase is the ideal way to start the flight. Additionally to this it will be part of Stewardess training to be able to recite "Where no man has gone before". This sponsorship shows yet again shows how American is what others are not, how we are unique, modern and fresh!

In our ever growing mission to have the newest and best fleet we will officially be retiring 30 A319Es which all are over our 2.5 year age limit with some as old as 3.9 years. These planes will be sent back to their respective lessors and hopefully go to other carrier willing to operate them. These planes are in the best condition with excellent maintenance record but we cant be fresh with old planes. This is why American has one if the youngest fleets in the world and certainly the youngest fleet of any large carrier. These machines will be replaced by either new A319s or if the A319 is not the best size we will be replacing them with either A318s or A320NEOs. Operating all four sizes of the A320 family gives us the best flexibility. There should be no scheduling problems and we will keep to our policy no flights will be cancelled. These A319s that will be replaced are from all bases across the fleet. We are also currently evaluating an A318 replacement as these machines start to age but do not want to introduce an other maintenance category which means that they will probably be replaced by other A318s. this will be the first A318 order in a very long time.
