I'm on Meigs. I have re-configured all the seatings with the new cabin editor. I've been away for a week, come back and on the fleet management page I can't see any of the seat configurations. I can't assign seats, the only thing that works is remove seating. Duh. What's going on?? Oh and BTW I DO have credits on the account.
But you didn't read the announcements, or one of the other threads on the forum.
There was a patch that took care of a problem in the cabin editor. The configurations made before the patch cannot be applied anymore. You can recreate the exact same ones (save for using Lay Flat 160, I believe, which requires some new calculations) and assign them, and you will get refunded on the ones that are installed currently.

Caithes, you mean this one? http://community.airlinesim.aero/topic/6161-ende-data-patch-and-seating-corrections-datenpatch-und-bestuhlungskorrekturen/
It says that "some" aircraft types have been revised, but I don't see anything there telling me that NONE of the cabin configurations that I've laboriously typed in is still useable. I haven't even managed to put in the time to replace all the cabins from before the last major cabin editor update, now you're saying I can start all over again? I have 300+ aircraft in two different companies, 30 different A/C types and around 60 different cabin configurations. What is so stupid is that it seems you can't simply alter an existing cabin configuration when it's in use, you have to create a NEW one with a DIFFERENT name and then laboriously go through your entire fleet and then assign the new CC to the appropriate aircraft. And then you can go through again and delete the CCs that are no longer in use. Who thought this system up?
I think I'm going to give this game up, it's a sheer waste of time.
Not sure who originally thought the system up, and yes, that announcement.
It doesn't mean you have to alter all your existing planes' configurations. It just means you can't assign those configurations you created before the patch, after the patch took effect. Yes, it'll mean having to make "new" configurations, and if you didn't use the LieFlat 160, you can basically make the same exact configuration and start assigning it from then on. However, you don't need to assign new cabin configurations to all 300+ of your aircraft. They'll keep the same seats as before, no penalties or anything. Just need to make new configurations for any new planes you get.
@Tandem ... I think it is good the update had been done :) I needed to reconfigure some planes, now I can do it almost for free
(again this time, when you switch config, you are given back credit of the old config).
So it works for me.. :)
Yes I had to recreate like 60 configs total among all my airlines. But I dedicated it about one hour and done ...
You can still use old config without any penalty, as caithes mentioned. You will not have any negative image penalty (as with the "old old" config) and it will work exactly the same way as it does now...pax will book and pay you :) But now you have an added benefit that if you need to change that plane's config in the future, you can get credit of the "old new" config back into your bank account. So don;t go about switching the "old new" into "new" configs if they are same in seats etc.
