that’s what three days are…
I would just like to say how glad I am that I happened to stumble upon this thread. I am pretty new at the game and had been worrying about how complicated it would be when I decided it was time to replace planes on routes and keep the same schedules. This has taken a load of my mind! :)
Airlake: the bookings are updated each day at a specific time for each airport - look at "Demand calculation" on the airport info page. That means the changes in your schedule won't start to take place until this time has elapsed, so in the worst case it might take up to 95 hours and 59 minutes :(
I have have another comment to make about changing aircraft - bear in mind that the new aircraft needs a flight crew, and the crew has to ferry the aircraft in time to be ready for your first scheduled flight. If you then cancel the lease on the old aircraft, this leaves you with the crew for that aircraft sitting round collecting money for doing nothing until fire them (very expensive) or retrain them. I just finished an exercise replacing an entire fleet of Dash 8s with ATRs and believe me, it was an extremely expensive business, but I hope it pays off.

Quick question... if you have redundant personnel, are they put back to work when you have the open spots? Meaning, if I have 5 redundant B737 pilots, and then I lease one out, will those 5 pilots work on the new aircraft? You know what might be useful... a tool that allows a company to shift employees to their subsidiaries.
