Hi Im new here sorry if this is in the wrong spot and I am going to sound like a noob.
I bought an Embrear 170 on Croydon (VH-AGN) with plans to operate it in Australia. After hours of frustration i realised my aircraft was in London, and didn't magically spawn where I wanted it so i figured out how to do a transfer flight. Anyway I put in a transfer flight from london to brisbane and it was scheduled to land on the 4th, 36 hours after takeoff. Is this because it has to keep landing and refueling or because there is something wrong with it, or will it just tell me in the morning my plane it on the bottom of the ocean and all my staff are dead? Is there a way I can see where my aircraft is located or speed up the process? Thanks
No way to speed up the process, the aircraft gets there when it gets there. If your aircraft has less than 50% condition then you manually have to organise the transfer flight. You are correct, the E170 has no where near the range to run non-stop so will have to tech stop on the way so it takes longer. Just to point out AS do not do crashes.
On transfer flights, AS calculates a five-hour break after every time the plane runs out of range to refuel, but otherwise travels at normal speed. As the maximum range of your E170 is 4,750 kilometres, it would need to refuel roughly three times, adding 15 hours to the journey, which adds up to your observation of a 36 hour flight.
But it could be much worse... I once got to bring a bunch of Twin Otters from Africa to the Fiji Islands, that took more than four days. :lol:
