Close of Russian Airspace for New Worlds like Quimby as Solidarity to Ukriane

Okay, just following up on the general discussion - first, thanks for the responses everyone! I’ve collected your feedback as you’ve brought up some good points for each standpoint. As mentioned, we’ll keep observing the price trend for now, but this week’s prices should already have gone down a bit.

Private Worlds, or the flexible configs of some ST worlds, are honestly where it should stay. Unlimited money, tell me who will schedule infinite planes before apathy kicks in?

The globe is also finite, so what happens when “space” runs out? We make airlines in the PU space?

A better idea, for me, if it’s the player’s “tutorial” world , is a “live tutorial”, limit 14 days per time, as is already established with trial enterprises, with constant push emails from the game guiding you through the steps, or something like this. But not as much longer than that.

The game loses all its meaning of trying to encourage make profitable airlines and instead when someone transitions their strategy to a “real world” they fail instantly because there is no more of this safeguard. So that discourages and implies “deceit” that this game is marketed as easier than seems, and who knows what kind of crazy person could come in and sue for false advertising. That’s a rare case, though still possible.

Or the money is a really large sum for 24h, then you have maybe $5m and have that to burn. if you lose that paying leases and go insolvent, restart and try again.

Why are we trying to define exclusive idealism and exclusive realism as the only two possible solutions? The game right now, despite its flaws I have pointed out several times, is a pretty damn nice mix of both. With some tweaks, we can improve this game while keeping “balance” between those really stupid easy free games (the ones on Android or Facebook-Xombat), that I know most of us started on and transitioned to pay for a BETTER product. At the same time, some of the playerbase does this as their job, and it is their choice to do so, that is true, but is it really difficult to understand why those players seek a respite from the real life issues sometimes?

Is a sort of balance between complete-whimsical fantasy and ultra-hyper-mega-realism really bad? I’d say no…

Yeah, the calculations of flight plans and times are simple now, so complicating this further is another challenge to add to the neverending todo list.

You just want to move AS closer to those app games. I am all for it but in a separate version of the game i.e easier game modes on separate worlds. The standard game needs to move to become even more realistic.

Not what I meant, if you read the last paragraph. There’s a reason I’ve and many others have moved on from Xombat and Playrion and the like.

So you want a game that is not super easy but neither as hard as the one we have? Like a medium difficulty level.

Sure, have an AS where you can choose between hard, medium and easy. Fuel price, demand and prices can be adjusted accordingly.

Personally, I have no interest for AS to be anywhere close to Xombat or Playrion and if it becomes so then I will immediately leave.

Essentially, keep the degree of difficulty for the main servers but have one for beginners and only for beginners where it’s a bit more forgiving for the dumb mistakes we all made. I hope that makes sense.

100% agree here  Why pay for something when there’s the same for free? Despite my long-standing and well-documented criticism this product I am still happily paying for, and that is for a reason. Hopefully that never changes.

Well lets see… AS Fuel Price this week = 83.44 ASc$/l AGEX = Today 799 -3 -0.37%
Looks to me like the perfect storm.

Me reading through this thread and thinking:

“Would be fantastic if AS would start banning Russian flights from Europe like in the real world. Having a Russian airline in AS, this realism would entail being able to cancel both maintenance and leasing payments. Like in real life. Which compensates for rising fuel prices” (pikachu face)

Yes, Martin - do it! :upside_down_face:

Hrhr, I appreciate the idea, but I am afraid there are so many crucial components missing in our current simulation to make this work. Some day in the future maybe, on a new foundation
