Fleet Management Staff

My apologies if this has been asked before; I was not able to find the answer to my specific question in the forums.

Here is the scenario: I have just started a new airline. I have three 73G aircraft operating out of my hub at SMF. All three planes end their working days at SMF and spend their two-hour maintenance window there. I currently have 27 fleet maintenance personnel.

My question is this: is there a benefit to having my fleet maintenance staff concentrated at one airport, as opposed to a situation where I turn the planes at one of the outlying "spoke" airports (requiring maintenance staff at each one)? Or, will I have the same number of personnel regardless of where the planes turn?

I realize that it will become a moot point as my airline grows larger and spreads out; it is just something that I have been curious about for some time.

Thanks!

Doesn't make any difference at all.

Maintenance is done by an external provider and they'll repair your aircraft anywhere. Costs only depend on how many damage points your aircraft had (you can see that in the bank account).

Thanks for your response. Upon rereading my question, I realize that I should have said “fleet management personnel,” not “fleet maintenance.” Would the scenario described above have any effect on the number of fleet management staff?

No. No matter where you plane will spend the night, the number of fleet managers will remain the same. No worries about that.

Thanks!
