INDONESIAN loads first flights with the new cabin into the booking systems

The first two Airbus A321 with the new cabin having new more comfortable seats and to that more Business seats. 30 Business seats and just 162 Economy seats are placed in these birds to come along with the new market situation with increasing business travellers which appreciate the easy fare system specialised to the requirements of them. The Boeing 757 had only 25 seats like all planes in the old system. A second cabin configuration is ready to be put in planes which will fly routes with even more Business bookings, 35 seats will be offered then. The first route for the Airbus A321 Enhanced are six flights a day between Jakarta and Makassar. With plane number 16 the new international expansion will be started.

The new Boeing 787-8 will start services on the route Jakarta to Abu Dhabi and replaces an Airbus A330-200 there. INDONESIAN hopes for better bookings on this route with the new plane. 208 Economy and 42 Business passengers can be booked on this new flight instead of the 196 Economy and 36 Business seats like before.

Additionally, the new ATR 72-600 was ordered with ten new frames. It will serve even more remote airports such as Gunungsitoli (CGK-GNS-KNU-GNS-CGK routing), Japura and Ketapang and more will come with more planes arriving. Already four are delivered.

First day of service for the Airbus A321 and Boeing 787 is the 24 February.

Always a pleasure to read your articles in the media-room! Btw Sparrow Air ordered a factory-new A321 for the first time and this aircraft will sport a new configuration for 190 seats. The current 31 A321s are configured to seat 187 passengers but the airline decided to remove a stowage to make room for three additional seats in Economy Class for the configuration C44Y146. Luckily for all flight attendants working on the A321, Sparrow Air decided to retain the small galley close to door 2R and the lavatory close to 2L. This ensures a wonderful experience on flights with a duration of more than six hours  .

Congratulations, and welcome!

One of my subsidiaries (Sparrow Express) continues to operate a fleet of 17 Boeing 727-200Adv´s in a 155-seat-configuration and they are doing fine  . These 727s are not even the oldest aeroplanes: 109-seat BAC One-Elevens are thundering down the runways day in, day out too! The huge advantage is that Sparrow Air can continue to claim their 480+ MD-80s "quiet and fuel-efficient" after a Boeing 727 or One-Eleven climbed away   ;) .

:excl:  Very top secret photograph discovered!  :excl:

The CEO of the IAG Indonesian Aviation Group was snap-shotted in Costa Rica on vacation! This very intimate picture was stolen from his camera. You can clearly see him relaxing in the background while someone who seems to be a good friend is eating a delicious leaf.

^_^  Actually, I'll leave you for 2 1/2 weeks to make vacation with those cute sloths.

   First I thought that this is me with a collegue relaxing in the office at Jakarta airport while listening to our screaming airplanes and ignoring the complaining passengers! Lovely animals! ;)

INDONESIAN connect orders plenty of new planes

The Bali-based airline INDONESIAN connect today ordered 17 Airbus A319 Enhanced and 12 Embraer 190LR to replace the Sukhoi SSJ 100 fleet since these type of plane is to small or doesn't offer enough flexibility. With the Airbus A319 the airline can provide more comfort while not having another maintenance category as there are already 17 Airbus A320 Enhanced. The Embraer 190 will offer an increased capacity over the small Sukhoi while the E-Jet family also provides more small planes to meet demand for low demand routes later with the Embraer 170/175.

INDONESIAN connect also signed an MoU for 10 Airbus A321 Enhanced to replace the Boeing 757.

INDONESIAN (Skylines) announces a new world record flight

The route from Jakarta to Sao Paulo is going to set a world record as it will be the longest distance made by a plane flying only over water in history of civil aviation. With exactly 15,592 km and 17h 33m it is a very long distance which can only be flown by the most modern aircraft in fleet, the Boeing 787-8. As it will be 90% chartered there will be only a limited amount of free sold tickets but the CFO named promotion rates of about AS$ 549 one way incl. taxes and fees in Economy class. The flight to Salvador will be just about 15 km less in distance.

Though I operate Indonesian domestic flights in Kaitak, it is still great to see your news and airline history. I think you didn’t really mention the “retirement” of your Boeing 727s. It is sad to see those old birds leaving services. :frowning: INDONESIAN expends really fast early this year and makes new airlines in Indonesia (including Aero Southern) have a great resistance in further development. :frowning:

The airline INDONESIAN announced today the take-over of the small Indonesian airline Garuda Connect

In fact Garuda Connect is not small and it is the second largest airline in Indonesia....

Overall, your airline is great and i mean that.

Hey

Yes, I am also sad that they had to leave but afterall it was a good turn and they will return at some point - maybe in Indonesia, maybe not, we will see - just for fun. Actually, INDONESIAN Values will take some of my still in-service 737-200 and will make some fun things with them - some 727-200 might join them.  ;)

Well, about the expansion I am somewhat sorry but that's AirlineSim. Just want to say I am not doing anything "active" to make your life or the other's hard since I really enjoy other players in my territory and especially those with some exotic planes like DC-9 and MD-80 and 737-200. If you want to lease some very cheap just tell me - I will support you.  :excl:  ^_^

And ye, INDONESIAN Connect is growing rapidly, too, lately. It's not that small anymore like when I bought it. But - well - your airline is growing faster than my INDONESIAN Skylines right now... LOL  :D

Of course, if I can lease some cheap and more latest MD-80s (or MD-90s) from you, I will definitely accept that. :D   I really love MD-80s and they are one of my favorite aircraft. :)  However, I won't lease too many DC-9 series (including MD-80s and MD-90s) since there is nearly no time for me to add more domestic flights in Jakarta unless i open a new hub in Medan or somewhere else.

I know you are not doing something "active" because if you really want to, i won't have any chance to grow so fast. :)

About the expansion speed, my airline does grow fast but the profit I make doesn't. It becomes one of my concerns since from your last profit and loss chart, my profit is only one seventh of yours .  :(  Also, i think my growing speed is not as fast as you imagine because most of my aircraft are ATRs. I believe that my expansion speed will be reduced since recently almost all the new flights departure from Jakarta. I was quite surprised when i saw your news that you have A330s to operate international routes when you still had only about 70 planes since recently it is really hard for me to operate any international flights-- there is always too less people would like to book those tickets....

INDONESIAN signs another contract with AIRBUS

Hamburg, Germany. INDONESIAN Group's CEO Panggabean flew today with his private Lockheed TriStar 500 from Jakarta to Hamburg (via Medan) to meet Airbus' officials to sign another huge deal with the European aircraft manufacturer in the name of INDONESIAN Skylines. A new order for 20 Airbus A319 in the Sharklet version was placed and deliveries start very soon now. The airline doubled with this order the actual amount of Airbus A319 in the fleet.

In addition Panggabean signed a big package which was rumoured for long now. The package includes a firm order for 25 Airbus A350 XWB in the 900 version with 10 more purchase rights for A350 XWB, a firm order for 120 Airbus A320 NEO (the versions are not yet stated) and additional a MoU for 35 more Airbus A319/A321 Enhanced. The CEO is quoted to have said that INDONESIAN - and especially the mainline - is "seeking to fly the most modern fleet of all airlines in the future".

At the ILA 2014 in Germany Panggabean was seen very interested standing in front of the huge Airbus A380. A NEO version of the Airbus A380 "is possible for us", he said to a reporter. "With a huge domestic market and an economy growing in Indonesia - and therefor wealth - we hope to have more international traffic in the future [...]"

INDONESIAN has something new after a time of silence...

Sparrow Air made all efforts to provide a similar program called "Bunga Bunga". Shortly after, a man called Silvio B. from Italy called us and asked about the number of people participating at the Bunga Bunga. What? We wondered. After that, we looked at wikipedia and stopped our original plan    ;) .

Congratulation! :)

I hope my airline can also survive for more than one year.

Look at the slots condition in CGK. Unbelievable...

I never knew Indonesia has such a large market.

Yes the slots are very restricted these days. Maybe we should ask for an airport expansion. :D
