It's too easy for a mistake to snowball out of control.

So I have my days all mixed up and ALL day I thought today was Thursday, not Friday, which is my week end closing. I jumped the gun and purchased another airplane since I would've made enough to cover the expenses before the closing of my finance week, and I just realized today is Friday. Now I am about to lose two airplanes since this game returns the airplanes first and THEN returns the money at the end of the next financial week. So not only will I be down two planes, traffic rights but I will have to wait two weeks just to get back to where I am today.  Not only that, in a panic I tried to cancel the contract for the new plane hoping I had a chance to undo my mistake only to see that it won't account to this week end closing that ends in an hour, it's going to be on next week.

It's (real) money down the drain, especially since it could potentially break my airline since one is an international flight and one is a trunk route.

I’m sorry to hear, but I fear, these kind of mistakes all players have gone through at one stage of the game play. And while it is annoying when you lose an aircraft cos you overestimated your income, it normally won’t break your airline. Your growth is slowed down, but you just get it back a few days later.

True, this happened to me once before, this time I’m losing an international flight with limited time slots for my departure waves and ideal connections.

I know that it can be very frustrating. As you get the deposit back, try to get that machine back as soon as possible and hope that those slots are still available.

I had wished for a better cash forecast tool many times. Especially in the startup phase, it’s a bit frustrating as you have to wait usually a long time till you can afford your next move.

Perhaps you can transfer the flight schedule of the plane you are about to lose to the newly acquired plane.

It has happened to all of us. Ones when I had already had two rescue loans and I couldn't take a third I had to take drastic measures to keep my airline alive. Thankfully I had a great friend who quickly bought one of my subsidiaries which gave me enough money to survive the week end closing and then I bought it back.

For me i always double check my financial deadlines. I was low on cash once and I had to do an IPO. not ideal but at least saved me from getting rescue loans.

I am usually really good about keeping track of finances and making sure I have sufficient money to cover all loans. I like to carry a couple million into my financial week just to account for a few days. I just completely lost track of the day of the week.  I'm usually off Tuesday and Wednesday during the week.  Well I was off Thursday as well, so when I went back Friday, my brain was in Thursday mode. (first day back from being off).  I only discovered my mistake when a coworker reminded me it was Friday.

In the future if I happen to make a mistake I need to learn not to panic sell a new aircraft.
