Does anyone have any ideas on the issue here? All of my aircraft have sufficient down time for maintenance but my flights keep getting cancelled for lack of maintenance. I’m aware they are old aircraft but I was under the impression as long as you were above 100% this was okay.
Airline is on Junkers, it’s only my A300’s this is happening with. Majority of the fleet are on symmetrical schedules so there is the same amount of time each day of downtime. The first aircraft this happened to has a ratio of 190% so really not sure what’s happening, I’m using Helvetic as well.
Do you have enough cash in the your account to pay for the maintenance of the A300s? If not, the maintenance gets deferred and you end up with problems like that. My understanding is that, generally, newer aircraft do not require as much or as costly maintenance as older ones. If you are constantly expanding, for example, you may not have sufficient funds in the bank to pay for the repairs when the slots are available.
Also, some repairs just take longer. I have found I sometimes have problems with older aircraft unless I ensure a continuous block of 4-6 hours for maintenance at least once a week. The two hours is the minimum, but some repairs just take longer.
