Maintenance Categories and Subsidiaries

Hi, from reading on this forum, I've gathered that having 4 or more different maintenance categories will incur a 15% maintenance cost increase for each additional category. I have a few questions:

1: Is this still true?

2: Does the penalty apply to my subsidiaries? If not, would it be wise to create a regional subsidiary and a cargo sub to avoid this penalty?

3: Is the 15% penalty for all maintenance categories, or just the newest one (maybe cheapest one)? It would be odd if I only had 1 aircraft in the 4th category, but it increased my overall maintenance by 15%.

Thanks for the help!

Having more than THREE categories will incur the penalty.

1. yes

2. only to the one company you are leasing planes with

3. for each additional (more than 3 categories) the penalty is 15%, counted on the overall maintenance costs. With 5 categories, you pay 30% more and so on.

Thank you! Just to clarify on 2, my parent company can have 3 categories, and my subsidiary has 3 different categories, and there would be no penalty?

Yes. The 3 categories are "free" for each company.

Awesome, thanks again.
