What?
Visually and functionally updated version of the current ORS search interface. This will allow to add a lot more constraints, like number of stops, carriers and transfer hubs to use, and other connection attributes. It will also allow to sort connections by criteria other than the current standard ones (connection rating for ORS, Neutral Display Order for DS) to get a feel for where a given connection stands compared to others in terms of a specific product attribute.
The new interface will also improve the way connections generated by the DS are displayed, as in this case fares, booking classes and possibly even return itineraries are relevant.
Why?
Especially with the introduction of Individual Travel Requests, it became hard to understand why a flight performs the way it does, as AirlineSim would not show absolute product ratings anymore. While I don’t want to completely reveal this information, a more powerful search interface will at least allow players to “develop a feel” for it.
When?
This was originally a part of the Individual Travel Requests feature, but hinges on the completion of the long-overdue UI refresh. Since the former is effectively feature-complete and the latter will take a while to complete, I decided to split the search interface into its own item.
