Options for transferring the aircraft to subsidiary

Hello all,

I apologize if this has been discussed already.

Scenario:

I have recently done IPO and selling some shares through my holding company. I want to use the cash I earned for the holding to buy or lease a plane to my subsidiary.

What is the best way to do this?

Help is appreciated.

Thanks,

I would suggest to lease the planes dirrectly whit the subsidairy or lease the bought planes by provider to the subsidairy from the holding company. I am sorry but you can not get the leased planes in anyway to the subsidairy when it is listed on the stock market. I have never understood why players ever have been leasing/buying planes whit their holding company (that does not have any operations by itself) to transfer to the subsidiary.

Well, look at it this way... let's say your holding has a subsidiary that is not listed at the stock exchange. And let's say you didn't invest all of your holding's money into the sub or you already sold another one or whatever. Now you've invested into other IPOs or other stock and have made a big profit out of your investments. Now you can easily buy one or two smaller aircraft and transfer it to your subsidiary that might not be making that much money (yet). That way you can really improve your sub's profitability.

Now let's say your sub is listed. So you buy some regional aircraft, for example some Dash Q400, at a discount. This would not be possible if you order them separately. Now you can either start an interling/codeshare contract or of course a lease contract with your sub until it has enough money to buy them from the holding company (at the discount)

Of course you can always make money through leasing aircraft out to other companies.

Cheers,

Aaron

in the meantime i have leased two planes, one of them was delivered already. I tried and I cannot lease it to subsidiary. I thought this would be a good way how to support the subsidiary during the start of the airline, as there is obviously shortage of cash... but, it is not an option, however in real life I would not see this as a problem to happen.

Anyway, need to save some money, buy, the plane and then probably just give it to subsidiary.
