Overbooking

What?

Allow inventories to be larger than the physically available cabin space so flights can be “overbooked”. Once an overbooked flight takes off, one of two things can happen:

  1. There are enough cancellations/no-shows that there’s enough space on board after all or
  2. the airline needs to compensate and refund the affected passengers, possibly for the full booking based on stored booking data.

Why?

A logical extension to Fare Rules for cancellations and no-shows allowing players more “risk vs. reward” tweaking once they “get to know their clientele”.

When?

Depends on Fare Rules for cancellations and no-shows and all transitive dependencies.
