Personnel Management/Staff mood

Hi,

My first attempt at the forum. Thanks a lot to many of you for your words of wisdom in relation to other topics in the forum.

So as I started out on the RIEM, I reduced the staff wages below the average and I had a one red bar rating. At that point (before I gained more wisdom from the forums) I didn't mind a red bar as long as I was keeping my prices down and getting a profit on the flights. But later I realized the importance of 'image' rating and I started to gradually increase my staff mood. Now I'm a good +2% from the country average but I still have a red bar rating. In the personnel management page the total mood shows 2 red bars while the staff mood ratings in the details section of each flight shows 1 red bar for Economy and Business flights. I believe this is pulling down my image rating. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

SkyTurbulence.

I leave @rubiohiguey2000 to awnser this as he tought me in the first place and I do not want to take any personal credit for it. Also I am a little bit to lazy to wright it on a phone or Ipad. Forgot my mac at home, sorry.

Just paying +2% for your employees won't be enough to really change the mood quickly. I'd say you need to pay at least +10%, maybe even go +20% to get results soon.

Your employees remember their pay from the past and won't be impressed with just a little bonus.

It might even be an efficient way to pay maximum wages for a short time to get the mood up as quickly as possible - once you're happy with the mood level, you can just go back to pay average.

My first airline had minus 4 red bars of mood, and kept it for quite some time. It took about 6 Weeks of double the country Wages To become full green. As Spezialist said, 2% will not cut it, if you cannot double the wages for a few Weeks Then at least increase them by 50% over the country average.

Gotcha! Thanks for your replies. I'll make the changes and see what happens.

Hey Guys! Thanks for all your help! The bars are up all the way on the green side. My image is gone up too.

Sorry for reopen this old post, but not too many topics on this  (another one i found was posted in 2011... )  and also have mix feedback

Has anyone managed to pull staff mood from 5 red bars to green? I'm acquired a company from a friend, and the airline has all 5 red bars staff mood except pilots. i set the maximum salaries for over a month now and nothing happened. I can't add higher salary as the system will just reset it to the current salary i have. i know when i increase salary for my airline also increase the country average, but i think it stabilised already with my airline has 50% more than average.

Is it an impossible task for come cases to increase staff mood then?

It depends how long it was in red… Let’s say it was on 50% country average for a year… It may take a year at double the average to get back to zero (no red bar, one green bar).

sounds like a long term payment, so i guess it's even harder to get all green...  that airline established since 2011, i hope it's not 5 red since started...

Did anyone suggest team maybe change the formula a little? It's unreasonable in some way to account the whole history. If they live in heaven for a some time, they should be happy or at least know the company is no longer punishing them...

It took me once more than half a year at double salaries to even see the mood start improving, but it eventually will.

i will see. Does it take less time to change mood after you start to see the changes or it's half year each time for increasing one bar for you?

i do hope it won't be 7 years for me pull it out from 5 red to neutral...

Yes, at start movements are much quicker. And once it moves, it’ll turn green quite fast. But it takes a lot of patience to see it change.

If it is this bad I would consider shutting the company down and taking over the operations through my own company though only worse case scenario, or simply not caring and carry on and not expand with it.

i don't really have issue with running the company: profit is okay for its size with high payment, so i can afford it. It would also probably be the last company of a brand my friend was running, so i want to keep it continue as a legacy.

it's also fun to run a company older than my AS career  :D

i'm also kind of curious how long it takes to change the employee mood. I never had a company with 5 red bar
